The problem with sound wasn't the hotel's problem. The neighborhood dogs barked well into the late night.

The staff was wonderful! We were traveling with a small dog. We had to leave him while whle watching and let them know. They had someone walk the dog and make sure it had food and water. our dog has seperation anxiety and started barking. The staff took him to the lobby to keep him company and all of them played with him while keeping other guest from being annoyed.

The only thing was if the window was open, water from heavy rain came in. The fan on the ceiling seemed risky as it wasn't a typical ceiling fan. AC here would be awesome. I understand why there isn't any.

Breakfast was great. Staff was great. I liked the mosquito net to sleep under, but it was really necessary at that time of year! Actually close to Pacheo chocolate location.

We have a lovely stay at Hostería Mándala. The rooms were peaceful and clean and looked out on the lovely garden. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful to any questions we had. Breakfast was excellent and filling with great choices. Thank you so much!

Beautiful hosteria, lovingly designed down to the last detail, under Swiss-Italian management. There is a beautiful beach across the street. It is a 5-minute walk to the center of Puerto Lopez. There is an excellent café restaurant nearby. In a fairytale garden there are several houses in the local style with different room sizes and number of beds. Each room has its own sheltered outdoor area with armchairs and hammocks. The continental breakfast is very tasty. The motorcycles are protected under a roof in the courtyard. They can help you to arrange tours. Absolutely recommend able.

Completely understandable considering it seems like they designed their own water system, but the hot water alternates back and forth between hot and cold regularly as you shower. A tiny complaint for such an amazing place.

This place is truly a work of art through and through. Amazing woodwork throughout. Wonderful cabins situated in a well-labeled tropical garden maze. Excellent breakfast every morning. Right on the best surf break in town. Super friendly and helpful desk staff.

this is really amazing place in Ecuador. Maybe the best hotel we visited during of our trip ... really very nice garden, bungalovs .. everything was so comfortable and we spend there 3 nights. I have to reccomend this hotel and - ocean and beach in front of the hotel - no big vawes, you can swim there without no problem and hotel lends beach equipment for free. Tasty and big breakfast, excellent jams!!! This place is = MUST BE!!!

If I were staying again, I would book a nicer room as mine, the butterfly room, looks back towards the road. So my recommendation is to book one with a view towards the sea or a cabin.

The hosteria is wonderful. The woodwork is stunningly beautiful and the concept, creating a mini-ecosystem of biodiversity as an oasis in Puerto Lopez, is inspirational. The hosts were so unbelievably friendly and nice, and their team is exceptional.

Too perfect in every way!

Traveling to Porto López to visit the Blue Boobies and enjoy the most beautiful beach in Ecuador, Los Frailes? Hosteria Mandala is the MUST stay. Super helpful and friendly staff and the last hotel on the secluded north side of the beach or an easy 20 minute drive up the road to the National Park. The hotel is connected with the best tours of the Island and very helpful on suggestions of great places to eat in town just a 10 minute walk away. I just don’t know how this place could be any better for travelers looking for a relaxing and welcoming place to stay in Porto Lopez. A++++

The only thing we could have asked for was better temperature control. We had a fan in our sleeping quarters, but it was still a bit warm. Perhaps ceiling fans or a couple more floor fans to point directly at each bed would be great!

We loved all of the wood and the outdoor deck we had. The proximity to the beach was perfect and the manager at the front desk was incredibly helpful and accommodating of our early morning start on our departure day.
