Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesMy only complaint was the room temperature. Perhaps locals are used to room temps in the mid 50’s to 60 degrees, but visiting tourists are not! It was always cold in the room, as there wasn’t any heating, so we spent a lot of time wrapped in blankets on our bed!
Really liked this place, and it’s only two blocks from a ton of activity at Fosch Plaza, yet it’s very quiet and peaceful at the hostel. We were there in mid March, which I guess is winter season, so the hostel was pretty empty. But it was a wonderful building and well set up. Really liked the husband and wife staff that ran the place, and they work great to work with; they provided us a good breakfast every morning, and the food varied a little each day, which was nice. The room was good, decent-sized with good storage, and it had a nice shower with lots of hot water, which has been hit and miss during the South American, 15-city trip I am on. And, the hostel has excellent Wi-Fi! If I ever return to Quito, I would definitely stay here again. Great place.

FinlandWe had a very good time. Very nice and hospitable hosts Dany and Miguel. Delicious and varied breakfasts. There are many restaurants, cafe and bars in the area. And minimarket next to the hotel. It costs 2-3 dollars to get to the historical center by taxi. We recommend it.

PeruI liked everything, in my room I felt at home. The owners are very kind and caring people. They took special care with my food because I am vegetarian and avoid sugar and flour. They gave me all the information I needed to find my way around the city. I am very happy and grateful to them, I highly recommend it.

United StatesNot unique to Hotel Quito Antiguo , the mattress was quite firm. We have found this to be the case everywhere we have stayed in both Colombia and Ecuador.
Dani & Miguel were excellent hosts! Each morning they served us a delicious breakfast with fresh fruit, smoothies, scrambeled eggs, etc. and went out of thier way to be as helpful as possible. The hotel is an older building but in very good condition with lots of charm. Our room, although small, was very comfortable. We also made good use of the outdoor sun porch on the 4th floor to read, draw and do computer work. The Location was very central, with a wide variety of restaurants, services, etc. within easy walking distance. Many other Quito attractions were just a short cab ride away.

BrazilI just loved my period in Quito Antiguo hotel! Miguel and Dani was very kind all the time. The hotel is clean, comfortable and the breakfast is pretty good. I'm allergic to wheat and they prepared a special menu. I 'm feel like in my home, extremely welcome! I recommend a lot, certainly I'll stay again in this place when I return to Quito. Thank you very much for this great experience, Miguel and Dani!!!

AustraliaThe hotel is well located in a safe area and very near the artisanal markets and the room is clean and comfortable. The owners Miguel and Dani made every effort to make my stay easy and comfortable. They accommodated my vegan diet at breakfast, even walked with me to show me where there was a vegan restaurant in the neighbourhood for dinner, and were generally helpful in every way. They will do your laundry for $2.

SwitzerlandWe stayed at this hotel four nights. We couldn't have stayed at a better place. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. There are many restaurants in the area. Dani and Miguel are a very charming, friendly couple. They go above and beyond what you would expect from a host. Miguel has taken us on a 1 day tour, organized our onward journey and gave us all the information on how to go to places in Quito. Dani prepared daily a delicious freshly cooked breakfast. It varied daily. Even laundry service is provided.

CanadaThe doors were always locked so we had to ring the doorbell to get in. The area housed several night clubs with the noise and people attending around the streets in the mornings and evenings. The surrounding area showed the shops set up to prevent shoplifting I believe. We did find a beautiful Ecuadorian restaurant very close to the hotel. It was a struggle to get hot water for showers. Does not support mobility issues.
This hotel has is full of character. The walls have a smooth igloo type look. It is 100 years old and shows many of the original features. Our hosts Danny & Miguel immediately felt like we were old friends. It was easy to find food and even with a good walk we found a market to buy warm sweaters. We only had breakfast once but it was delicious. Danny did our laundry for a great price.
