The bathroom was rustic. There were some cobwebs and dust in the closet spaces.

This is a good, basic accommodation for a short stay in Quito. Location is convenient to many sites. The staff was helpful and friendly. Plenty of closet and drawer space, but comforts in room were sparse.

The shower really let it down as extremely difficult to regulate and would suddenly get dangerously hot. A kitchen was advertised and though the owner was very welcoming and was happy for you to use it, it only comprised of a microwave, fridge, sink, cutlery. He also offered you to use his selection of teas and fruit. Thirdly the room was cleaned daily as advertised so the bathroom bin wasn’t emptied - sure they would have done it if we’d asked though.

A beautiful old building, well looked after with a lovely friendly owner and very near to the main plaza In the historic centre.

The location is excellent - set in the Historical Centre easy walking to supermarkets restaurants and the beautiful squares and plazas. It was quiet from traffic, had an awesome atmosphere, was extremely clean & cared for. I enjoyed my privacy though the staff were extremely helpful.

All in all the stay was very good, just a couple of things. For the first night I was given a room in very poor conditions, but they moved me the next day to another one. The location is very good w.r.t. the city center and the street felt safe, but if you walk a couple of blocks in the other direction, you will reach a dangerous area, so just beware. Not easy to open the window of the bathroom for ventilation.

Very friendly and helpful staff/hosts, very close to the city center (couple of blocks to the main square), clean, spacious room, confortable. Would definitely come back.

Nice, clean room in a big, yet friendly and cosy old building. The location is perfect, quiet, but in the middle of the centre, and I felt safe during the day and early in the evenings. Staff was helpful and friendly. Recommended.

There were no downsides.

Jamie was fantastic and went out of his way to help me. When I had a problem with my door lock they switched my room without any hesitation. The place was centrally located in Old Town and that made it convenient.

The hostel is located in the historic center of Quito, so you can visit a lot of things by walking. The owner is very helpful and friendly, and the house is beautiful. My room was very cold though, much colder than the outdoors. But luckily they gave as many blankets as I wanted :-) You can’t enter the building with your key, you always have to ring the bell, which might be a bit unusual, but it’s for safety reasons.

Outstanding hospitality. The ambience is old style, beautiful and full of the "touch" of Señor Coba, the owner. Hostal Flores is one of the most memorable places we have ever stayed in. Comfortable and relaxing; quiet and welcoming. Staff and owner were responsive to our every need. Good advise about local places to see. Relaxed and very clean and comfortable. We liked being able to hang hand- washing on the Terraza and to eat and make tea and use the "kitchen" on the ground floor. Everything was sparkling clean and neat. Central location for "Old Town" Quito; public transport; sights and sounds of Quito Staff: Ismael and Alex were superb. Proficient in English.

Staff and location

The staff were the best part of our stay. Wilson was friendly and helpful and very accommodating to our needs. He upgraded us to a room with a window to the outside and it made all the difference to our being able to stay. Andreas, a staff member on another shift, was also very friendly and always asking to be of assistance. The location is excellent to see all the attractions of Quito.

Nothing, we had a great time!

The location was amazing, right in the historic district of Quito. We were able to drop our bags off and explore. The inside of the building was beautiful. It had a little courtyard in the middle with the rooms overlooking. The staff was great in getting us a taxi the next day. While we were waiting for the taxi, we had a great talk with the owner, who made sure we had a good taxi driver. The airline had lost my bag, and the front desk was very communicative with me about getting my bag back when the airline dropped it off. They wouldn't leave it at the front desk, and the staff made sure I got it back. Overall, they had great service.

There was construction at the hotel everyday, which made it incredibly hard for me to work; I was woke up at 9am in the morning on several occasions. There was no warning about this after making the booking, there was no warning when I was checking in. The construction was forced upon me without consent. At one point, I asked them to stop the construction until I checked out the next day, to which they agreed. However, I was woke up by construction the very nice day. RUDE.

Front door remains locked through the day and night and desk is not 24 hours , they live and sleep on the job. Bell ring in and out with hope for luck that someone opens
