Position is super good for visiting the centre during the day. At night is not really safe, a taxi is always recommended.

Super mention for the excellent staff. Room is very big and functional. Very nice breakfast.

The stairs at the entrance, but the owner took our luggage and carried it up for us.

The location is really nice, easy walking in the Centro Historico. The hospitality of the owners is exceptional, delicious breakfast, comfortable beds, nice ambiance.

The only issue was it was very cold inside but we were able to get extra blankets to wrap around us while we sat in the lobby.

Very charming, great location in old town. The staff was wonderful, breakfast delicious. Fast inexpensive laundry service too.

I ordered a room with windows in the yard. But they put me to very dark room - no view to the yard at all. Very unpleasant especially with power cuts. I had to pack my stuff in the morning with no light. Next time I would ask to change the room. The hotel would need some renovations.

The location is perfect in the historical centre. Decent breakfast at the upper floor with nice views.

Not a hotel problem, but the Historical Center can be not safe at all at night. And unfortunately the energy cuts in Ecuador is something that compromises the experience

The staff are very receptive and friendly (Ruben and Alexander), beautiful lodge with a view to Virgen del Panecillo

    We had a great stay!

    • Stayed 5 nights

We really appreciated and enjoyed our stay in the suite, but the kitchen had very small and limited cookware and no kitchen utensils. We had to buy a few in order to use the kitchen. Also, the washer did not work - BUT the staff were kind enough to do our laundry for us at no charge. If you arrange for an Uber or tour with hotel pick up be aware that stopping in front of the hotel is not allowed and you will need to arrange to be picked up and dropped off elsewhere. Once we figured this out, it was no big deal.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the suite which was great with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, dining area and sitting area. We had a great view from one of the bedroom windows, and our room was just feet from the breakfast dining area. The breakfast each day was great with a choice of eggs three ways and different fruit and juice from day to day. The hotel staff welcomed us in at the very early hour of 4:00 am, and we were able to have a good rest before beginning our first day in Quito.

I can only say good things about Casa Montero

The hotel was a beautiful colonial style with an open, light feel. I ended up staying 7 nights. The location was close to great food, tourist info centre and gorgeous plazas. The reception was very accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was great and the dining area looked out onto The Virgin of Quito. The room had EVERYTHING you needed and the bed was comfortable. In my 7 weeks of travel, I believe this was the most comfortable and grand!

Very nice hotel with annoying smoke detector.

Unfortunately, out room had a smoke detector which flashed two bright red lights every 5 to 10 seconds, continuously. Sleeping on your back was therefore pretty much impossible. After checking some of the other rooms, ours appeared to be the only one with this problem, but we didn't feel like moving, so we tolerated it for the stay.

The hotel is located in an old historic courtyard building, with a very nice interior. The breakfast area is in a very nice add-on location at the rear with an excellent view of the Virgin of El Panecillo on the hill behind. The location is in the heart of the old historic district, next to the Plaza Santo Domingo church.
