How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I had a very comfortable stay here. The bed was large and comfortable, and the room was clean. A nice bathroom with ample hot water. The nighttime delivery of a hot water bottle and chocolate biscuit was a lovely treat. The staff were all kind and helpful. The neighbourhood felt safe enough in daytime hours (solo female traveller). The airport shuttle was easy to organise and good value for money. Thank you!

The hotel is located a bit further from the historic center (but still very easy to reach) and the shower only had strong pressure when the water was very hot.
The staff were very helpful and kind. On our first evening in the hotel room, we were given a hot water bottle and two cookies , a very thoughtful and sweet gesture. The room was also spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

They treated us so nicely. We arrived and the hotel checked us in so smoothly. After checking in they will bring us a pair of cookies as a welcome snack which is very thoughtful. Because of the altitude I felt sick so I wanted hot water and they brought up a tea cup with water. I had my own tea but you can buy tea from them if you want. They provide water bottles as well. At night it gets cold and they don't have a heater in the room but is tolerable but every night they will bring a hot water pouch for you to sleep with. The room was really spacious and bathroom was too. The neighborhood is not the safest from what we heard some recommending not to be out late. The altitude is very serious so when you come take it easy on your first few days.

The neighborhood is not the safest from what we heard some recommending not to be out late. The altitude is very serious so when you come take it easy on your first few days.

Location isn’t great, near a lot of nightlife which isn’t bothersome when in the property but is off putting when travelling at night time - however similar goes for all around Quito.
Really good value. Breakfast was good and cheap. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Bed was comfortable and shower was good quality.

The immediate area around the hotel is a bit boring. The shower did not drain properly so I'm standing in a pool of water while showering. Not the end of the world tho!
It's a solid lower cost option. Good Wi-Fi and breakfast. Good staff.

The hostel was extremely clean, comfortable with paid TV channels, shampoo, soap and hot water in the shower, provision of hot water bottle and welcome snack in the evening. The place was also quiet and very close to the main strip

The hotel was a little noisy, for example from other guests or the dogs outside, but that’s not necessarily the hotel’s fault.
Great value for money. After two nights we went back for a night on our way back. Staff was very friendly, always happy to help. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great ($4) with toast, eggs, coffee, juice, granola and chocolate bread! WiFi worked very well.

Only complaint was the screws on the bottom of the chair were too long and poked me so I had to unscrew it a bit. And there was a couple down the hall having wild but very loud sex a few times. Internet wasn't the strongest, worked okay on our phones but my computer (which always receives a stronger signal and 3-5x the speed) was getting almost no internet speed which is weird.
Great room, excellent service, always cleaned whenever we went out and loved having water dropped off to the room because I always forget to buy water. Wonderful reception, Anna is amazing.

Great little hotel within a healthy walk of the old town centre. Comfortable room and bed. Very good value for money. But the best thing was the charming, friendly, professional and very helpful staff. Made the stay very special. I would definitely return.
