Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI think the receptionist must have been off, as each member of staff we encountered said they couldn’t help as they weren’t receptionists… most odd, but maybe just unlucky timing….
An interesting hotel. We loved the windows looking directly into the forest.

GermanyThe guest kitchen was sadly a joke. Only one hot plate, no oven, a microwave and three water boilers. No mugs, no spatula for example. And I got the impression that it was cleaned only every 3 days with a vacuum cleaner. I think the hostel is about to become a hotel and they will get rid of the kitchen in the future, so they don't mantain it anymore. The common room was also more like a hotel lobby. Very nice, but not really a place for meeting people.
Nice Hostel with a unique architechture. The rooms were clean and offered a lot of space. Great view. 20 minutes walk into city center. Very nice and helpful personell.

BrazilThey simply closed the internal places at 6pm without previous telling us everything would be closed. So we could either stay inside our tiny rooms, outside (was cold) or in the kitchen.

NetherlandsThe sofa in my room did not have armrests, so it was not very comfortable (the hostel also has a large lounge with better sofas, but I did not discover that until I was about to leave).
Beautiful panorama over Ebeltoft Vig from the entryway and the breakfast room (the guestrooms sadly face the other way). Excellent location for exploring Nationalpark Mols Bjerge. Although branded as a hostel, this is in fact closer to a hotel experience, with private rooms with bathroom and tv, and linnen and towels provided (the only real hostel-like aspects are the instruction to clean your own trash and bring your used linnen and towels to a collecting point in the morning). Although there were very few guests during my stay (I've seen only two others), there was still an extensive breakfast buffet with delicious freshly baked bread and a coffee machine.

United KingdomWe wish the communal area was open till 11pm or so. It closes at 9. It was too cold to sit out and it would have been exceptionally lovely to sit by reception where they have the most stunning views. The sunsets were so beautiful and we missed out on them as it was too cold to sit outside with my elderly parents. So we had to sit in the rooms in the evening, which was alright but not ideal.
It was very cosy, rooms and toilets were fine. There was a charm to the place despite the cold exterior design. The main area by reception was very nice. Free coffee, board games and chill music playing in the background. Incredible views.

United StatesThere was no room cleaning or bed making or towel change for the days I was at the hotel. Often there was no one in the reception to reply to questions. The towels were thin, and only one bath towel and one hand towel no floor mat in the bathroom, no wash cloth. Tiny piece of soap. Not a full service hotel.
The lobby was beautifly furnished. The breakfast was good.

United KingdomThe site does cater for school parties and other youth groups. We had been allocated a room next to such a group and asked to be moved, which was done with good grace by the reception staff. In fact, the school party was impeccably behaved and we had no problems.
If you appreciate 1960s brutalist architecture, this building is an absolute gem and it is respectfully conserved by the operators. The interior still has many of the original fittings which makes it atmospheric. The staff were extremely helpful to us and just nice people. The whole operation is a community venture, putting any profits back into facilities for the town of Ebeltoft; a brilliant idea.
