Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

United KingdomGreat location, comfortable and spacious accommodation that was spotlessly clean throughout. Use of a fridge, kettle and microwave for self-catering and plenty of space available for us. We also fell in love with Kevin, their lovely dog who was very keen to play fetch in the garden with his tiny tennis ball! There was plenty of information provided in the accommodation for us to explore Silkeborg and we were within a 15 minute walk of the 2 'beaches' on the lake. We spent a very relaxing and enjoyable time on our visit.

I enjoyed my stay so much. The owners are super caring and kind persons. They can assist you with anything at any time. The house is super comfortable, very well equipped and close to the center and the station, max. 10. min. easy walking. The breakfast is delicious. You feel like home. Highly recommemded in Silkeborg. I am sure will return. Thank you, Guys.

Good location and with a place to park the car. The owner is super nice and helpful.

IcelandNothing! Here are just some ideas of stuff it would be nice to have if you are open to suggestions. A hairdryer is always nice and a bathmat in front of the shower so you don’t make everything wet. It might also be nice (since you have the room for it) to have some recycling bins, I almost cried throwing everything in the same one…
After a short walk from the train station I was welcomed to this spotless apartment. It has everything you need/expect from this type of a place along with a bunch of stuff that just makes it feel like home, for example; a full bookcase of boardgames, a huge table to play and candles and matches! Even though the bed was a bit soft for my taste it had the nicest duvet I think I have ever slept with. It was so fluffy!! I am always a bit stressed when I stay at places where the hosts place leads directly into my area (no door that I can lock from my side between us) but the man was just so nice that I didn’t worry about it! He also told me about it so there was nothing sneaky about it!
