How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Hotel was very quiet. Even though our room was right off the breakfast room, we didn't hear a thing. Staff were very friendly and helpful, even let us store some things from our cooler in the refrigerator. Room was big and comfortable. Breakfast was very good.

I can't fault this property. Don't expect a 24hour hotel type service. You have to find your own evening meals but the hotel has a list of recommendations.
Great entry system meant arriving after midnight was no problem. Code for hotel and room entry sent to my phone. No 24 hour staff but not a problem. Room was fabulous. Large and really comfortable with our own wet room. Spotlessly clean. Also a large balcony to sit out on and have a G&T! I think we had the largest room in the property....lucky us. Lovely staff in the morning and generous Danish breakfast available to 9.30am. Use of kitchen and fridge in the afternoons and evenings for storing and cooking food, making tea etc. Will stay there again!

There was nothing idid not like, it was a brilliant place to stay and handy to everything.
I liked the whole atmosphere of the hotel It was very comfortable, and very friendly.

Breakfast was fantastic with lots of options and plentiful coffee. Also liked being able to sit in common area with our family and friend each night for conversation and wine. It was also very convenient to buy groceries and cook dinner in common kitchen. Rooms were comfortable. Every employee we met during our 2 night stay was super friendly, helpful, and willing to share info on area. This was our 2nd time at this hotel. Each time they exceed our expectations.

The hotel looked new or at least newly refurbished. The room was very nice with a big balcony. Staff very friendly. Best value for money yet, in our travel from north Jutland to the south.

It is a small town so you need a car to get to Hals. We were traveling in off season so a couple of restaurants were closed. There were limited hours when someone was at the desk to help you.
We loved this hotel. We have been traveling Denmark for 2 weeks and this was one of our favorite places. It was clean, we loved the small town of Hal’s, breakfast was wonderful and the manager could not be more helpful.

The place is outdated, and the beds in our room were old and not very comfortable. You couldn't tell from the pictures about that. The room was also pretty small, though there was furniture to put our bags in/on. Same thing for the bathroom - it was clean, but old. Breakfast was simple and adequate with fresh offerings, but not the extensive offering we use to start our day and keep us going while traveling.
This is a small village, motel-style hotel. It's well cared for by the owner/manager, who's friendly and helpful to everyone. The main breakfast area is also a social area during the rest of the day, and people seem to congregate from time to time. Parking is free and has easy access to the rooms. The method of ensuring you can get in your room is to send a personal code just before you arrive, and that worked fine (it means you don't have to wait if someone is not there to check you in). The village is quiet. We chose to stay here because of the proximity to the Lille Vildmose park across the water, where they have reintroduced moose.
