It was so hot in Denmark that week and nowhere has air conditioning. The room was right under the eaves so very very hot. Needed just a top sheet not a full European quilt.

Location was very close to the palace and the shops. The Restaurant was a bit up market for our needs so we ended up eating pizza in town. Breakfast was good.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful surroundings. The rooms are nice and clean. The staff is also very nice, breakfast was great as well. Very happy overral.

The coffee!

The restaurant is worth trying in the evening: some really good food and attentive staff. In fact a good description of the hotel would be "restaurant with rooms" rather than "hotel". Much frequented by the business community, at breakfast too. Excellent breakfast buffet, though the coffee was not brilliant - served in thermos flasks! Comfortable room with its own balcony. Don't miss the "castle museum" in the cellar, which has a charming collection of memorabilia to do with nearby Fredensborg Castle.

Only thing was the shower had no natural level towards the drain so the water always kept leaking out into the middle of the bathroom. There was a squeegee but it got pretty old after a couple of times...

Very countryside feeling with an inner courtyard even though it's a ~3-4 minute bus ride into central Odense. Great and friendly staff who helped me with parking my bike in the garage. 4 EV charging stations in the parking garage that worked well. Overall good food despite being a bit pricy for me as a Swede (dkk vs sek is horrible right now lol). Breakfast was really good.

I checked in after 6pm and there was supposed to be a key in an envelope with my name on it at the desk. There wasn’t one. I went to the restaurant and asked a staff member to help me find out what happened to my key. Somehow, another guest had picked up my key AND his but then checked into the wrong room — i.e., the room that had my name on it. No idea how this happened. The hotel staff asked the other guest to trade rooms with me, which was fine, but as the other guest had been in the room for some time already, it felt a little awkward. Would have liked a complimentary meal of something for the inconvenience as I had to wait for the other guest to clear out and put the room back the way it was.

Beautiful rooms, well appointed. Great breakfast buffet / smørrebrød.

No min fridge or kettle for tea/coffee. It was hot for Denmark but no air conditioning so was very stuffy..

Room was big and recently renovated. Simply and stylishly decorated. Location is a lovely village near the palace. Parking is free and close. check-in was easy.. grounds are pretty and well maintained. I liked the bed comfort (my husband thought it was too soft).

Nothing i disliked but i had not anticipated risking losing my bearings in this deceptively large hotel.

A pleasant hotel with some impressive spaces (library for eg). Room was satisfactory, with appropriate equipment. Pleasant staff, very helpful and cheerful in the restaurant which offered good food. Plenty of parking. An initial issue with the room key was addressed promptly and successfully.

Disappointing that this property does not provide tea/coffee making facilities in the room. I would have expected that this would be obvious especially at the room tarriff.

The evening noise if there was a function on.

A very comfortable place to stay. Everything is clean and well presented. The inclusive breakfast offers a wide selection for cereals, cold cuts to hot dishes.

we arrived in the rain, we were soaked. Reception wasn’t very welcoming. We happened to stumble upon the changing of. The guard at 12. Reception should have told us about it. I explained we were tracing a memory I had in the town with my grandmother, who is Danish. If you are in the hospitality business show a little interest in your guests, encourage them to see x,y,z. It was a very disappointing reception.

The Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices. The dinner in the Bistro was fantastic. We enjoyed the tasting menu.

A little more attention could be paid to cleaning the rooms some days it just seem to be a cursory effort on the part of the staff. I think that had a lot to do with what staff was actually on.

The property is ideally located if you want to access the cities and towns in New Zealand. The morning breakfast is excellent with a good variety of things to choose and is very fresh.

Our room 401 was clean and tidy although extremely hot, but when I asked about a fan one was provided promptly. There were no tea/coffee or even any bottled water was provided in the rooms. The bed was not good if you made the slightest move it creaked and groaned very noisy! When I was in the shower first time allready wet, the hair and body wash had not been refilled, I notified the receptionist who did not seem to be at all bothered! When we were sat in the evening having a drink with friends At 10pm someone started to open and close all the doors very rudely and noisily, they didn’t speak with us at all and when we got up to say good night and left the library room at 10.20pm everything was closed down and no staff to be found …. If only someone had spoken to us it would have been better!!

It was in a nice little area and had the potential to be wonderful. The breakfast staff were delightful and always willing to help. The breakfast staff also provided a lovely spread and worked hard.

The room could use an extra door between the hallway of the room and the bedroom area, to reduce noise from other guests in the hotel. Staff wasn’t too service oriented compared to other hotels we’ve experienced.

Reception being at the back of the property is a bit odd. It would be nicer to be greeted on entering the property instead of having to wind your way to the rear.

Very tiny shower, so getting the entire bathroom wet while showering was ineviteble, as there was no shower curtain.
