Breakfast. Atmosphere.

Staff was a bit reserved. Breakfast was 7/10. If you stay in an upper floor you have to Schlepp your luggage up as the older building of course does not seem to have an elevator. Location is great right in the old town on a square. We arrived during a downpour and the parking lot behind the building was muddy and the entrance walkway wet with puddles. Rooms were good considering this is a very old building with a lot of character.

We arrived a little early and duty receptionist enabled us to park vehicle and store cycles. Manager was really helpful in dealing with our requests. Good breakfast. This was my second stay at the hotel. I will come again.

Remember ear plugs! The morning can get very loud with traffic (my room was facing the main entrance and road). Depending on the time of year, bring a sleep mask as it was bright in the room at 4:30 am.

Of course, the location is great / amazing view. I loved the firm bed and the size of the room. The bathroom was great (although water everywhere after I showered). Oddly enough, i also loved the new hair dryer.

We felt very comfortable there and there was nothing we did not like.

The room was comfortable and very well located. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was more than adequate and well presented with the possibility of eating outside in the sheltered courtyard.

I didnt liked how small the windows were, but thats something you cannot do anything about. Also the breakfast was a bit less.

I liked the cosyness of the whole room. It felt like a bedroom in someone's house. The view was amazing and the whole room itself was neat.

Room was extremely hot which made it difficult to sleep. Church bells started to chime every 15min from 6am.

Breakfast could be better

Beautiful old hotel with excellent location and service. Special thanks to Ms. Sandy Bergerhoff，for her thoughtfully preparing our check-in even before our arrival. She gave us the key for our room N0. 41 when we arrived. Special thanks also to Ali who kindly helped us to take our 4 pieces of luggage directly into our room. The reception and housekeeping are very helpful and kind. Parking is very good also. We really enjoyed our stay in Hotel Zur Goldenen Sonne. We would be happy to come back again!

Double room was not very although old historical building. Initally heating in bathroom not working - this was repaired. A couple of evening meals were plain and lacked herbs and spices.

Lovely old style hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Helped carry my case upstairs. Very good breakfast facilities and food service. Restaurant and bar on site in the afternoon and evenings. Fantastic beer garden. Cost effective accommodation. Plenty of power points to recharge tablets and phones.

Excellent breakfast - buffet-style which included scrambled eggs and sausages. There were flasks of coffee on each table. I had dinner at the hotel on one night & it was excellent. The waitresses were particularly smiley.

Well appointed clean and comfortable room in an old building right in the centre of town. Good breakfast choices but slightly let down by instant coffee instead of the real thing. The town itself is beautiful and it was great to be able to stay in a period building that still came with all mod cons

Finding that the room we booked was not in the hotel, but in a seperate annex building. This was not clear on the Booking.com website. The annex building is four floors (no lift) and we were on the third. Impossible for most. Elderly people to access, certainly with luggage. This needs to be made very clear on the website.

Spacious room, very clean and had an old world charm. Hotel restaurant is very good.

- no elevator, elderly people might have problems - no air condition, summer weather might have high temperatures in Germany - drunk and loud people in the surroundings of the hotel at night

The hotel is located at Quedlinburg's market place in the middle of the old town: very picturesque. We liked the comfortable and spacious room, and had dinner and breakfast and enjoyed both, especially the local food of the Harz mountain range. Good parking at the hotel.
