Exceptionally well fitted out, free parking on-site when on-line registration done. Renovated historic building in central area, very elegant town house in quiet part. We arrived late Sunday evening, the instructions how to let ourselves in via intercom worked well. Breakfast excellent.

The hotel is a beautifully restored period building in a perfect location. There was an excellent welcome. The breakfast was in a beautiful room with a generous table of everything one could have wished. The staff always took time to express interest in my programme. The room was very comfortable and scrupulously clean.

Limited staff meant we needed to call a number for us to receive a code to get into the hotel when before 5pm.

The team are friendly and very helpful. I have a special dietary requirement and they were able to provide a choice of special bread for me each day. The breakfast is amazing with so many different elements, we stayed for a week and and ate something different each day. The room was spacious and very clean with a lovely view over the town square. The bed was very large and comfortable. The building is so special with it's history, lovely to stay in such a beautiful, important place.

A beautiful old building just a few minutes walk from town centre. Staff were most welcoming: professional and friendly. A lovely touch was the personal notes for guests in reception (not 24 hour). Rooms are very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is great. Loads of choice and plenty of it. There's a coffee machine available all day. Fürstabtei would suit sole travellers, groups, couples and families.

Everything, location is superb, in the heart of old herford the staff were super friendly and helpful , good sized rooms, nice bathroom with good shower , clean and tidy , the hotel is a beautiful old building with lots of character, nice and varied buffet breakfast , free parking , would definitely stay again and recommend to others,

If I was being picky I'd say the bathroom was in need of an update and the beds were on the soft side. That said, after 2 weeks of travelling and using beds that were usually too firm, that was welcome and I still slept well.

Wifi service / stability needs improvement. For travellers away from home for a longer period of time a in-house laundry and dry cleaning service would definitely be advantages.

Hotel Zur Fürstabtei is a well maintained and attractive historic building. The reception staff ( when on duty ) is very accommodating and eager to help with any question asked. The location for travellers who want to make Herford their main destination for cultural, personal activities this is a first choice domicile The breakfast Buffett is excellent.
