How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The road is noisy if you are at the front but not always and not late at night.
Great location, cleanliness. Comfortable. Everything you need for a self catering flat for a few days. Would recommend it.

Initially, there was an issue with my booking, as the reservation for my children had somehow been excluded from the system. While this was frustrating, the staff quickly addressed and resolved the problem.
The location of the hotel was somewhat tucked away, offering a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. Once we arrived, we were very pleased with the room—it was beautifully designed, tastefully decorated, and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Overall, despite the initial hiccup, we had a wonderful experience and would recommend the hotel for its serene location and excellent room quality.

No things that I can think
The room was very good to stay it is modern, and very clean. We did not breakfast, so we can not make a reaction about that. The kitchen and bathroom are very nice and Emsdetten has very much possibilities to visit, we are very glad with our stay !

The blinds were lowered halfway and we could not adjust them ourselves (or at least we could not find a button where to do it and there were also no instructions in the room how to do it). It was a sunny and warm day and therefore the room was also very warm. Without putting the blinds up we could not get some fresh and colder air inside the room.
A very big and cosy room with a kitchen. Perfect for the family. Nice and big bathroom. Everything what we needed for a one night stay. The key to our room did not work at first, but after the phone call, personnel helped us rather quickly to solve the problem. They managed it well.

The pots need to be checked. While cooking a handle fell off which made it a little difficult to use
The room was cleaned daily, staff was very polite/friendly, able to get laundry done while we were there for a decent fee and location had stuff around to do

There was rarely someone at the reception. The beds and pillows aren't comfortable. The chairs in the room are not comfortable either. The kitchen was not well supplied with cookware.
The room was spacious. The bathroom was nice and clean. The cleaning staff and the staff at the restaurant downstairs were awesome.

TV did not have enough channels, no channels for the kids. Ambient lighting in the bathroom was nice but it was quite disturbing for the sleep, couldn't understand how to turn it off.
Clean, a big apartment for a family, quite cozy.

Did not find out to open the blindings at the windows. But we left early, so not a big problem.
Very large apartment. All nice and clean. Restaurent in street level.

The noise from the street as there is no A/C we slept with open windows.

Great parking, really good rooms and very clean!! I would really recommend! We never met any personnel, but we got a text about check in (not check out though) in English. Perfect. A bit noisy from the hallway, but a small place so okay. Would not recommend the restaurant downstairs - but a nice ice cream shop just down the road. We would definitely come again

The shower plug sadly was clogged up, which meant we could not properly shower or the bathroom would flood - hopefully this will be sorted by the time the next guest arrives! Room on the road side is quite noisy so not recommended if you're a light sleeper!
The spacious room, which turned out to be more of a flat with its own kitchen. The proximity with the Pandora restaurant was also good, and the ice cream shop a few meters down was a bonus! Good communication with hotel on the day of arrival. The room was squeaky clean too.

I didn't notice the 9am check out. That was a shock to the system as I had planned to work in the morning before leaving. Also my room was on the road side and it was very loud with our without windwos being open.
The price was low for the space I got.

The room was more like a small apartment. All brand new and very clean. Check inn was very easy and we felt sorry we didn't book a few more nights instead of one.
