Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The old mill is beautifully located in a small village by the river. The room was clean, spacious, basic but functional and comfortable. Across the village road is the reception and a lovely little restaurant with a terrace on the river bank. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant and sat out on the terrace watching a heron and ducks while enjoying the peace and quiet. The breakfast was good and staff very friendly.

NorwayThe dor was closed, I had to find another hotel. The receptionist had gone home before the time given in the booking. The had the booking and should have waited to the promised time, or at least answered the phone.
I was told to call beforehand if I arrived after 22.00. I arrived at 21;30, which can be proved by photo before 22;00. The door was locked and nobody answered the phone. I had to go into town to book another hotel. I have not been compensated yet for this totally unaccepted situation. Regards Odd

United StatesOur experience with this property is dominated by the fact that we were not able to check in on late arrival and forced to sleep in the car. We had called the property well in advance to inform them that we would arrive late. We were told to call the number on the door to the restaurant to be let in. When doing this on arrival around 9:30 pm, it turned out to be a non working number. It is possible that poor mobile reception in the area (as reported by some reviewers) caused this problem, but this was the only means to try to contact the property. Multiple attempts to knock on (locked) doors etc were unsuccessful in getting the attention of anyone. An additional word of caution is the curious circumstance that the street address of the property is identical to the address in a nearby village, where the GPS will take you in spite of following the suggestions given by the hotel. Using the geographical coordinates is to be strongly recommended if you wish to stay in this hotel. I’m not able to judge the facilities due to the above events. I strongly urge the proprietors to offer additional means of contact if allowing late arrivals. Our experience was very unfortunate, further complicated by our old age, 87 and 76 respectively.
