How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).

Our suite was looking a little “tied”, as were the public spaces within the hotel though not the restaurant/courtyard area which is obviously their jewel in the crown. A (small) refurbishment/update of the accommodation areas would certainly not go astray.
The staff, the restaurant/food and garden particularly. The included breakfast is an absolute delight.

In the picture, it appeared like the lake was directly visible from the location / rooms, which was unfortunately not the case. The viewing point was about 10min walk away

An exceptional stay in a comprehensive boutique resort. The hotel is distinguished by personal management from the owner and an incredibly friendly staff. Elegant interior design featuring several lounges and comfortable seating areas. The outdoor garden is stunning with its diverse seating options and large fountains. Ideal for relaxation and rejuvenation without the need to leave the hotel. Excellent cuisine, especially dinner and breakfast. The rooms are very comfortable and provide complete relaxation. The place is unique and perfect for capturing amazing photos, especially during sunrise and sunset. An experience worth repeating for more than one night to enjoy everything this exceptional hotel offers.

Nothing, this is the nicest place I have ever stayed.
Most beautiful location and grounds, the BEST dinner I have ever had. The room was clean and inviting. The best part was the staff and how friendly and welcoming they were. And we loved the spa!

The Owner was so friendly and helped us to organise a late dinner on our arrival at their restaurant. The food was divine and we all so enjoyed it. The next morning my wife had one of the best massages in the Spa. Thank you!

Well they don't have air conditioning which in the heat was a challenge. However they did provide a good fan which kept us more comfortable than we had anticipated. Wish there was a pool - then it would be perfect.
Tucked away on outskirts of Lindau in a quiet location. Only 5 minutes by car down to Lake Constance. Really friendly arrival in a lovely 'Mediterranean' style house with central courtyard dining. Food was very good both at dinner and breakfast although expensive. Comfortable room with small balcony. We didn't use spa (was 35c outside) but looks well equipped.

The palate of the chef - nothing wrong with the execution or presentation, but his choice and combinations of ingredients are substandard
Fabulous hotel in a secluded country location yet only 10 minutes drive from Lindau island. Really beautiful grounds. Wonderful restaurant, stylishly elegant setting. The Michelin meal we ate there was not up to the standard I would have expected. It was fussily contrived Asian/European fusion food, which seems to be increasingly the fashion among trendy chefs. In my experience they usually manage to be inferior renditions of both cuisines. In our case, we found some of the offerings downright unpleasant.

Amazing property, welcoming staff and stellar restaurant (the sommelier won't steer you wrong!). So lovely to wander through the gardens. I just wish we had been staying more than one night!

Didn't have a swimming pool.
Lovely staff, great restaurant. Dinner was as good as it gets. You felt very special, nothing was to much trouble. The staff explained the menu with great detail. The Sommelier was outstanding with a lifetime of knowledge and quite clearly the owner of the hotel. Breakfast sublime, scrambled egg to die for.
