Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Lovely place on the outer skirts of Dresden. Our pup was welcome and presented with dog bowls and a bed in the room already. The view was lovely and it was modern. We felt very welcome!

GermanyIt feels a bit too harsh to call these negative points, as they’re really just things to be aware of. When booking, you can clearly see where the hotel is located, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that getting into Dresden takes a little longer. There’s a tram stop about a ten-minute walk away, and trams run regularly, so it’s manageable—and the peaceful setting is part of the charm. The hotel has a very good restaurant, which also serves the excellent breakfast and offers fine dining in the evening. What I would have liked, though, is the option to get a coffee or other drinks outside these times—maybe a kettle or coffee maker in the room, or a small honesty bar with more choices. Of course, you can bring your own cold drinks, but still, having a bit more than just a single bottle of water in the room would have been nice.
The hotel is beautifully located, and the entire property is truly stunning. Especially in summer, when everything is green and in bloom, it becomes a place where you can really unwind and relax. The breakfast is excellent and individually prepared, served in a lovely atmosphere. The staff are extremely friendly, warm, and attentive. It feels very genuine and not just professionally polite, which makes you feel truly welcome and comfortable.

Czech RepublicA beautiful and romantic place! We stayed in a lovely suite with both a bathtub and a shower. The personalized welcome – with a handwritten note, fresh fruit, and cookies – was such a nice touch. Breakfast was fantastic, beautifully served and delicious. We felt truly cared for and would love to come back!

Czech RepublicWonderful villa with a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. The rooms were cozy, clean, and comfortable. The staff was very kind and helpful throughout our stay. There is a small parking area in front of the villa for about 6–7 cars, which might be a bit limiting during peak season.

We were back after app 5-6 years and it was as perfect as we remembered it. The only room left at the time of booking was a 60 sq m mezzanine that we absolutely LOVED! Despite the wedding housed by the hotel on that night we were served a lovely cold platter and wine in the room and the staff were very considering and caring- lots of thanks. Super breakfast that is hard to consume, as usual; beautiful surroundings: peaceful and quiet - we felt fully revived after a tiresome journey the previous day.

United StatesThe lights on the house shined into our windows making it hard to sleep. The room our friends stayed in didn't have curtains to block it out. Our room had curtains but we needed to keep the windows open because of the heat. I don't understand why the owners can't shut off their lights during sleeping hours. Also a little refrigerator would have been nice.
I enjoyed the ambience and it was clean.

A beautifully restored villa, everything is very delicate and tasteful. A magnificent, but at the same time cozy restaurant. This time we only had breakfast, but we will definitely come back for dinner. The service is very high-level, but also sincere.

TurkeyThe moment I stepped into the hotel, I felt like I had entered another world. Every corner, adorned with stunning architecture and vintage details, seemed to be lost in time. The warm, intimate atmosphere spread a sense of tranquility that touched my soul. No matter how tired I was, I was captivated by the magic of this place. But there was one issue... I had made a reservation mistake when I arrived at the hotel. It was my fault. However, the team was so kind and helpful that they found an immediate solution. This showed me just how powerful sincerity and helpfulness can be. The warm smiles on everyone’s faces and Christin’s wonderful attitude made this hotel something entirely different. My time was limited, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that I wished I could stay longer. The peace I found in the attic room was indescribable. When I looked out the window, I felt like I was in the middle of a fairytale. Far from the city, there was only the serenity of nature. The vintage touches in the room transported me to past times. It even reminded me of Anne from the show Anne with an E. After breakfast, strolling through the garden was a unique experience. Surrounded by the colors of autumn, this area felt like a dream. With every step, watching the dance of nature was the essence of peace. The flavors I tasted in the restaurant were like a door opening to another world. A vegetarian breakfast not only satisfied my taste buds but nourished my soul as well. But then, I couldn’t help but realize how quickly time had passed, and when it was time to leave, I found myself in a very emotional moment. As I said goodbye to the hotel, my eyes filled with tears. Because this wasn’t just a hotel; I had become a part of it. It was a place that nourished my soul, transported me to another world, and carried a new story in every corner. As I left, I knew that the traces of that warm atmosphere would stay with me for a long time. Thank you for everything. I will return one day.

ItalyThe location is tucked away and there is nothing within walking distance, but we were looking for the peace and quiet! Taxi's can be ordered up quickly by the front desk and they are so helpful. They should work with a car service to assist in airport transfers as well, as they are a 10 star establishment.
The breakfast room and all that they offer was beyond 10 stars! It was beyond white glove service each and every morning, starting with a smile to greet you and offer you the most relaxed environment and easy way to wake up. The menu choices, the style of the room from the fresco painted walls, the history and the staff's understanding of each guest they are servicing. They all go above and beyond to satisfy your each and every need.

United StatesOur attic room was a bit small and the dinner, though delicious, was overly expensive in relation to similar prix fixe menus we've had in other cities and fine dining restaurants.
The staff was wonderful at Villa Sorgenfrei and the property is beautiful--in a green suburb of Dresden, with vineyards going up the nearby hills. It was easy to get into Dresden and a staff member suggested a great, inexpensive parking lot near the museum area. We loved the breakfasts--with delicious bircher muesli and wonderful eggs. I loved the bed linens and wish to know the brand/kind of pillows and duvets available--as they were wonderful, better than my home pillows and duvets!

UkraineThis hotel is undoubtedly one of the best choices available to stay in Dresden for city visitors travelling by car. For the price, they exceeded my expectations. The hotel's history is truly inspiring, as it was transformed from an abandoned 18th-century building into a cozy and welcoming place. The territory of the hotel is quiet, green, and well-groomed, with a dedicated parking area on the premises, which is very convenient. I was particularly impressed by the warm welcome and overall hospitality of the staff. The ladies at the reception were incredibly kind and always ready to help. The room was shiny clean, neat, and cozy. The quality of the bed sheets, mattress, and pillows was exceptional, ensuring a comfortable night's sleep. The view from the window was stunning, overlooking an old church and a beautiful garden. Breakfast at the hotel was a highlight, standing out compared to regular chain hotels. The coffee was very tasty, the orange juice was freshly squeezed, and the ability to build your own breakfast from several courses available on the menu made a difference. Note for other travelers: The commute to the city center takes about 20 minutes by car. I am unsure about the public transport or taxi options available, so it might be something to consider if you prefer not to drive.
