One of the most spectacular city hotels I have been to. Absolute five star superior experience on every level. The location in a park by the lake in walking distance to the city center is unbeaten. The indoor/outdoor pool on the roof with terrace and bar with views over the lake and the city is unforgettable. Rooms, staff, restaurants, breakfast are impeccable. We will be back. We loved the bike rental service because its the best way around town.

Breakfast staff were a little unorganiesed,especially when ordering coffee. It the room you should have the possibility to turn the movement sensor under the bed off.

All good, I was a bit disappointed that we couldn’t check in earlier (we arrived at 11:30 but had to wait until 14:30 for our room; official check-in is 15:00, so no drama, but you always hop to get in earlier)

The rainfall shower head was a wicked indulgence, nice walk-in closet, lighting and curtain controls with push of a button, and a balcony. What’s not to like. The staff is respectively friendly and makes a point to greet you personally, lovely touch. If the budget allows, make sure you visit the Lakeside restaurant on the 7th floor. A true dining experience.

Nothing - I love the property

The property has an amazing architecture and is in my world in the best location of beautiful Hamburg. The staff is fabulous, service oriented, engaged, friendly l, no posh allures at all. The materials used are of high quality, great details in the bathroom, dressing room, bedroom. Wonderful sheets and easy light handling.

Breakfast was chaos when we arrieved. It looks like that the staff operates in to many areas,in each others! The buffet room is to small when full outside on seats poeple bumping into each other! To longer waiting time for orders of simple nature's !Breakfast is the most important meal on the day and will set you for the day. In your hotel it gives you stress which is not a good start!!

The evening experience was good.your staff on reception and concierge was very helpful! The room was to our expectations with a view which is one off.

The spa was fabulous. I had a wonderful massage. The lakeside restaurant was a real experience just wonderful. Our room was spacious and luxurious with a wonderful view.

It gives me great pleasure to give feedback on The Fontenay. We have stayed in numerous 5 Star hotels around the world over the last many years and we have never experienced anything like The Fontenay. It is very luxurious, elegantly decorated and has a charming and very welcoming atmosphere with very attentive and professional staff. The location is fantastic right at the beautiful Alster lake.
