How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewClean, large room, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, very nice staff.
Virtually no internet in the room, not so easy to contact staff, no clear instructions to check in (I was lucky someone was entering so I could go in the building with them).

Verified review397 / 5 000 The only thing that was really great was the location. The hotel is in the center and it is a short walk to everywhere. Unfortunately, if you want to sleep overnight, it is not the ideal place. Trams run there very often even at night and it is impossible to sleep with the window open. In winter it is probably ok, but in summer, when there is no air conditioning in the room and it is unbreathable because the sun shines there all day, it is impossible to have the window open. Otherwise everything is ok.

Verified reviewLocation was good, clear instructions how to get in. Spacious, clean.
Super hot. No ac or even fan. We had to open windows and open the door, so we could have a little moving air.

Verified reviewWe managed to get reservations at another hotel.
It seemed very sketchy, it may very well have been us, but we could find our room and we had no contact because the wifi was less than adequate. We were charged for the full week regardless of the situation. I know policy is policy, however there could be partial acceptance in some cases.

Verified reviewThe room is quite large, the bathroom is fine (everything you need and proper cleaned). Triple glass, so when the windows are closed the amount of noise is very low.
The shared kitchen is downstairs, so you have to walk a bit. Shame: there is no ventilation possibility. Therefore, you have to open the windows at night. The curtains are an 'exact' fit. It's very hard to have the curtains cover the window at the rooms are positioned at the east. So, in the early morning you already get a lot of light inside.

Verified reviewEasy check-in. The room is spacious. Comfortable bed. Location is close to the city center and railway station. Grocery store across the road.
It was not very clean, there was dust in the corners and a lot of dust in general, probably because of the windows facing the street.

Verified reviewThe room was elegant and clean, and had everything needed for a shorter stay. There was a small fridge, an electric water kettle, a decent-sized table with 2 chairs, and outside the room, on the ground floor there was a kitchen area too, though we did not try/need this. The temperature was nice, and we really appreciated that the big middle window could be opened fully instead of just tilting - letting fresh air into the room was quick&easy this way. Getting in was easy with the codes received. The location was good, with tram, train/S-bahn and bus stops, and also stores&supermarkets within minutes' walk.
Real animal skin/fur on the floor. It was disgraceful and disgusting, and bad both for vegans and people with fur allergies. I put it away in the wardrobe... I think the owner should consider removing this from the rooms. The air ventillation in the bathroom turns on immediately when you turn on the main light, and it is very loud. It turns off immediately when the lights are turned off, but I wish there was a separate switch for this. I often found myself only using the mirror light when going to the toilet or taking a shower, because that at least didn't turn the ventillation on. The accommodation is not accessible by wheelchair/for people who have difficulties taking the stairs. Lights in the corridors don't turn on automatically, and we had to use our mobile phones' torch to locate the switches when we arrived to the accommodation in the night.

Verified reviewThe room was spacious and clean. Plenty of sunlight and ventilation is possible. Rooms are facing the Main Street so easy to access the stores and shops.
The property located next the Main Street, the traffic and tram service is kind of annoying while you sleeps. Since there is no air conditioning in the rooms, you have to keep the window open to sleep (visit during summer ). So the traffic noise can really disturb your sleeping.
