Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere is no front-desk, so check-ins are by appointment only. This is fine, but it's sometimes hard to predict when you can arrive if you're new in Berlin and carrying luggage. Also, this means it's more difficult to store luggage after you check out.
The value is great, and the room quality was great. It is a shared accommodation, so you share the balcony, bathrooms, and common room, but have your own large bedroom. It's suitable for both short and long-term stays. There are plenty of bathrooms, and free coffee and tea. The location is very near the subway and Berlin Wall museum and slightly farther to the art district.

United StatesPillows are horrible and the shower areas need a bit of updating/fixing.
Small, efficient and in a great area of the city. Nice shared balcony and easy access to metro/tram.

IcelandThe reception was super friendly and considerate. Rooms and corridors - clean and quiet. My room was comfortable, well-equipped, had panoramic doors with a blinder, and a spacious balcony with a street view. The hippiest street in Berlin was just 15-min walk from the house.

FranceThe pillows were extremely uncomfortable. I’m sorry but they were basically mini duvets and had no head or neck support whatsoever. I’ve never seen such pillows before but please replace these.
Nice street, and good value for money overall.

SerbiaHeating, it was too warm and it couldn't be switched off, if it was winter time I guess that wouldn't bother me that much but I needed to sleep with balcony door open all night in this case! 😬
This is not ordinary hostel, it is residential building where only one floor is hostel with like 10 single rooms, one big bathroom (toilet seat, sink and bathtub), two smaller toilets (tolet seat and sink) and there is two more showers! It never gets bussy, they provide towels, also there is a small kitchen with free coffe and tea and they have floor heating everywhere! 😀 Rooms are a bit small but for short stay are perfect, there is also a balcony that is conected for all rooms but that didn't bother me at all. It is really nice neighbourhood and it is quiet. If you like to sleep longer ask for a room that looks at the back yard because during the working days you can hear the garbage man. Metro station is very near and I had really nice stay there. 😊

United StatesThere was smoking on the balcony which was against the rules. Showers were draining slowly when I was there.
Great location in a modern building. The balcony access was amazing. Refrigerator was super helpful. The staff was super nice.

United KingdomMy room seemed to need a hoover, and the shower fitting in one shower is loose. Otherwise, perfect.
This is one of my favourite places to stay in Berlin so far. I love the rooms and the balconies. It’s really nice how it’s a shared space but still feels private. The rooms are well soundproofed, and I never felt like I had to wait for a free bathroom or shower. And the water is hot, and there is coffee and a fridge, and the WiFi is good. And all the staff are friendly. It’s mostly really great tbh.

ArgentinaVery private but lonely at the same time.
I had a great stay in Berlin! The place was super neat, well-maintained, and had everything I needed. There were plenty of showers available, and I really appreciated having access to a private bathroom—it felt almost like having my own. It made the stay extra comfortable. The only small suggestion I’d have is to add a microwave, which would be a nice extra touch for convenience. Overall, a great experience and I’d definitely stay here again!

PortugalThe room and shared areas all looked clean and new. The room was small, but comfortable. The shared balcony was very cute and the location of the accommodation couldn’t be any better. I had a really great time here. The shared area is cleaned daily and the trash can on the room is also emptied every day. My only complaint would be the shower cabins. There is no wall support to hold your soap or shampoo, so you have to place it on the floor. Plus, there is no actual separation between the shower and the place where you would get dressed, so you either leave the shower wearing just your towel, or wet clothes.

GermanyThe balcony is not entirely private. It's a shared long balcony and you got to pull your curtains during nighttime. Otherwise someone could take a peak inside (which felt kinda strange). The curtains did their job though, so no problem for me.
I highly recommend the location. My room was comfortable, the entire homing was clean and the staff very nice. It comes with a kitchen for everyone to use. You can make yourself a cup of tea or some breakfast. There's also a fridge I believe (did not use it). I even got to know a colleague and we had a great chat!

United StatesBeds are narrow but fine. Desk and chair a bit small, but they are fine.
Very clean, early check-in much appreciated. I've stayed here before. Rooms are small, but excellently appointed. Public simple hallway kitchen with fridge and kettle for hot water. Showers are fine, as are toilets (all shared along the hallway). Balconies are nice. Elevator is excellent. And . . . the location! Easy to get there with public transport from both the airport (BER) and the train station. Lots of shelves to help sorting if you have lots of luggage! And. . . if you want to see stuff about The Wall . . . this is the place!

Right behind the Berlin wall in the old East section. Fantastic location. Very quiet and spotlessly clean, good shower and nice and warm inside the whole block. Tea and coffee was a nice touch even though I brought my own. Would definitely stay here again!

Germany- No table, there is only a kind of folding shelf, but it is not horizontal, everything rolled off it. - In such accommodation options I prefer to have a small kitchenette to cook some simple things (for example, scrambled eggs or sausages)
For its price - a good option. Quiet area, tram and metro nearby. The room is a bit small, besides there is no table, there is only a kind of folding shelf, but it is not horizontal, everything rolled off it. There was not enough small kitchen to cook some small things, but there is a refrigerator and a kettle, dishes, spoons/forks. Overall ok, if you want a relatively cheap option, but not a hostel

AustraliaI should note that the room beside ours had an electrical fire occur during our stay, and though this was a freak accident, no staff are on site or (in our case) in Berlin to assist in handling it, leaving me and my partner to call emergency services and deal with the incident on the property's behalf. Nonetheless, the property host was understanding, and assisted in giving us a refund for the disruption caused on that night of the stay.
The room was clean, and though small was comfortable and as described, with nice access to shared facilities such as the kettle in the common area. The location was very convenient and right next to the U-Bahn.

United StatesThe bed and pillows were slightly uncomfortable for me personally.
Located near public transportation and within walking distance to quite a lot. I loved going out on the balcony and although it is shared I always had it to myself. I actually rarely saw others or heard others which in a way was good because in terms of noise level everyone was respectful. The room has so much storage despite it being on the small size which I appreciated.
