Having taken the most expensive room, the bathroom was disappointing (shower in the bath) and noise from other rooms.

Room was clean and spacious with comfy beds but bathroom was disappointing.

1. Staff speaks bad English. 2.We asked for a room on a top floor, they gave it to us but didn’t say that it were windows in a ceiling. So actually it would be better to have a room at the lower floor but with window. So we wanted a view but got nothing at all. 3. Swimming pool was cold

A bit "old school", but unless you expect everything to be top modern, it's not an issue.

The room including the bathroom had been absolutely spotless! Rarely have I stayed in a hotel room as perfectly clean as this one.

The pictures are a bit deceiving. My room looked nothing like the photos on the website. The breakfast was a traditional "hotel" style, nothing extraordinary like I saw in the reviews. Also my blankets were twin size, so it didn't cover my body fully.

The staff was very nice and helpful. I also enjoyed the saunas and the pool.

The only thing missing was a mini-fridge and water boiler (with coffee & tea) in our room. The internet connection is good, but not extremely fast. Note: the jacuzzi has a very pleasant temperature, though the swimming pool is not heated (at least not during our stay).

Pool is a little small, only 1 jacuzzi and some of the staff could have been a bit friendlier. Being told where you MUST sit in the morning when coming down for breakfast when the breakfast room is pretty empty was a little bit excessive when my partner asked if we could sit in the room with a nicer view she was very aggressively told "No!".

In general everything was good, the scenery is brilliant, the location is old school German and the food was brilliant for sure. Free parking was a nice extra.

I was a little concerned about the cleanliness of the rooms, when I saw customers with a dog leaving the hotel. They are accepted but being a person with allergies, how can I be sure, no dog slept previously in the room?

The hotel is nice, the location is great although unfortunately the weather wasn’t the best. Great facilities : Pool, sauna, relaxing area. Possibility to have treatments and massages at the neighbouring house. The staff was friendly.

The cheaper single person rooms are on the side of the kitchen. The fan of the kitchen is turned on at 5:30, which is an excellent time to go for a walk around the lake anyway :-)

Outside of property to the rear and sides is not nice due to random add ons, parking on gravel. Lacks a consistent concept and investment. Village and surrounding area are in economic distress and have been for decades. No lake views. Access to lake is not as easy as described. Area near Birkenfeld is more scenic and nicer.

Exceptional service provided by all. Very consistent, very friendly and attentive. Very quiet rooms. Good choices at breakfast. Solid three star property that aspires to be more.

The hotel is located in a very nice area, friendly and client oriented staff. We forgot a pillow and the pillow case was sent to us free of charge. Great service overall.

The organisation how to place people at the breakfast was not so good, furthermore the breakfast choiceness is limited just basic things and for 4 days every morning it was exactly the same food, not diversity of choices which made me to really skip my breakfast.

I enjoyed to see people wearing traditional costumes, which made the hotels more original, I liked very much that everything was cleaned, first time when I heard they accept dogs in the hotels room I was concerned about cleanest however my stay proved the contrary. I enjoyed the park behind the hotel and fresh air.

I would be nice to have a refrigerator in the room for drinks and stuff.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and informative. Amenities were easily accessible and very well maintained -- especially the pool and sauna. Although the weather was subpar, the freely available umbrellas made walks comfortable. We had a unexpected adventure of archery, which was a lot of fun and has become a new hobby of mine.

This is a very comfortable hotel with excellent facilities. When I booked I had not realised that it has a swimming pool, which is very nice. It also has a really great Finnish sauna which I was really pleased to be able to use. We enjoyed our meal in the restaurant, but only had a coffee rather than a full breakfast. We stayed for one night on a long journey, but it would be a great place to spend a few days.
