Perhaps a few upgrades at the property e.g. the apartment bathroom would make it even more attractive for the quests to return.

The hotel layout is unusual in that the reception area does not communicate directly with the bedrooms on either the first or second floor. There is a separate guest entrance for both and the main access to our room on the first floor was via an outdoor staircase; fortunately it didn't rain while we were there. There was an alternative entrance at the other end of the building which took you up an inside staircase to the second floor and then back down to the first floor at the end of a corridor. There was no lift. Although we are now quite elderly, we coped with the stairs but would have liked to have been forewarned, perhaps in the website description.

Our first floor room had additional facilities (balcony, fridge) and was large and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and there was a wide range of interesting buffet items, individually portioned in reusable glass containers in a refrigerated display. A model of sustainability. All the staff were very helpful. Free guest parking outside the hotel. The hotel garden was pretty. The railway station was very close and we had an included Echt Bodensee card which gave us free rail travel in the area.

Being a tourist facility, hotel staff should learn a little English. Neither menu, information, messages via the Booking app are in English. German is not a lingua franca, not spoken by all visitors in Lindau area and therefore not sufficient.

I really liked the breakfast. Great the idea to use only fixed portions to limit food waste!

The room was fairly basic but very functional. Breakfast was superb, with an ample selection of items and great service from the host. The location could not be any better, at only minutes from the water edge and from the train station. Wifi worked perfectly and was fast.

A bit pricy. The shower was very dangerous (bottom too high) and couldn’t be used by handicapped or elder people.

The staff was super friendly, and parking for our motorcycle was perfect. The room felt much nicer than in the photos, and all late check-in instructions were very clear. We loved the nearby Italian restaurant, the short walk to the lake, and the peaceful night with open windows and rain.
