The staff were not super friendly and treated us like we were an inconvenience, especially in the morning, the waiter kept huffing at everything . After 17:30 the restaurant part closes so you can't sit and enjoy a drink or food (other than the vending machine).

The hotel is in an incredible location, just underneath the castle. The restaurant food was delicious and the bedroom was lovely.

The hallway/stairwell leading up to the rooms from the dining room smelled like trash and sewage a bit.,Also, the sink in the room made loud sucking/drainage noises all night long.

The property location is really strategic to visit the castle because it is on the private walking route to the castle. The price offered comes with breakfast, so it’s not expensive at all. The rooms here are hotel rooms with shared toilets and bathroom but very clean and good enough for short stay like that.

Limited choice in breakfast. Breakfast was not refilled after 9.15. For breakfast the guest cannot get a her own cup of tea or coffee, but needs to order it with the staff.

Wonderful location next to neu Schwanstein castle, beautiful hotel. I would come back. Great parking place at tge hotel meaning there is no need to park downhill nor is there the need to walk all the way up to the castle.

The hotel is simple so some may not enjoy the lack of luxuries. In our opinion, the hotel should not change. The simplicity adds to the charm.

The location is incomparable! It is in a privileged position and the castle is just steps away from the hotel. Perfect for a calm and quiet evening or early morning stroll on the grounds.

It was beautiful and quiet, and you almost felt like you were staying in someone’s home. It was clean and well kept but a little different for us to have the showers in the bathrooms outside of the room. However, they were clean and well maintained. The breakfast was wonderful. Everything was fresh and delicious.

Wifi was intermittent but ok . Breakfast on day 1 was lovely and the gentleman serving charming. Day 2 was a different story. The young girl was miserable and food almost empty. No pastries left , no juice or bread for toast . Nothing had been refilled and we had to chase her for a coffee.

All was well

Superb location, enabled us to hike the hills above the castle and the bridge early in the morning . We had completed our sightseeing as the first tourists arrived. Breakfast ended at 10 and we returned at around 10.20. Even though they were trying to clean up, the manager of the dining room went and got us a great breakfast. This level of service was wonderful and we felt genuinely valued. All hotels can be nice but the staff make the difference and this was the case here, kudos to the excellent staff.

There was no information provided about the check in process, only the road information. It is inside the restaurant/part of the kitchen area. It was a little strange to find. This did not feel like a full-service hotel. It is more of a restaurant with some basic rooms, almost on the hostel level because some have shared bathrooms. They were to provide us with a Fussen card at check in and the manager was not on site so we did not get one. This was disappointing.

Location, location, location! This is as close as you can get to the Neuschwanstein castle and we loved that. There was free parking and we had access to drive up the private road that everyone was hiking up to see the castle. There was a restaurant on site and the breakfast was very good.

A pity you can’t see the castle from any room, though it’s only 200 meters away. Rather old fashioned furniture in the room. Difficult to find the entrance of the hotel. The restaurant wasn’t open in the evening.
