The location is a bit far away from everything but public transport is easy to use so wasn't too bad.

I loved the community and togetherness, the movie nights and campfire, the chickens and Willy the rooster, the herb garden, just everything about this place is absolutely magical.

The room was very hot, though I suspect this is quite typical of accommodations during the summer months in Europe. Might be nice to add another fan in addition to the ceiling fan…

Very nice people working here and the facilities were nice and clean. We needed to add an extra night at the last minute and they were very helpful!

The matresses were really used and therefore not the most comfortable anymore, also we only had red light in our room, and no option to switch on a real light. That was really annoying with packing etc.

The location was gorgeous! Unfortunately the weather was really bad during our stay, but it was still very comfortable at Sandino, there were enough places so chill inside: own bed, common area, common kitchen, porches, movie erea

This hostel is really a wonderful option for your stay in Berlin. The rooms are really spacious and bed are comfortable. The living areas are also nice, with a kitchen so you can cook your own food. There’s a fridge and storage space for food too. The shared bathrooms and showers are cleaned everyday. Sandino is truly a little oasis of calm. There’s a beautiful garden with Willie, a cockerel. There’s also a cinema room where a different movie is shown every night. The staff at reception is a really friendly guy who gives you a useful tour at the start. You can get a free towel and ear plugs which is very generous considering the price of the stay. Scoo and Ella are also really amazing at their job! I really loved staying here, I can’t wait to visit again. Thank you for the very lovely memories. Book this hostel as your stay, you won’t regret it! It’s also quite close to the centre. You can hop on the M5 most of the time. There are 2 big supermarkets close by and also a handful of cafés and restaurants.

Staff were so lovely, I arrived a bit late, but they were very accommodating. Such a beautiful hostel, very clean with great facilities, and easy location to get to town - by bike or tram. Had a great stay, and very sad to leave!

There’s nothing I didn’t like

This hostel is so good it’s like a little hippie commune , so homely , great to meet and talk to other people , the facilities are perfect, great kitchen and hang out area , the garden is beautiful, chickens are so cool and super close to shops! I really enjoyed my stay here

The whole place is so magical, like an oasis amidst the urban vibe of the city. Every detail there has heart and it made me feel just like home. Grateful for that. Next time I visit Berlin, this is definitely the place I will go again at.

What did I like about the property? The better question would be “what didn’t you like” cause I could simple say “nothing”. Oh wait, I can also just say “everything” to THIS question lol my bad…what I liked? EVERYTHING. But you know, it actually goes beyond “liking”, it was more like LOVE.

Bathroom is somewhat magical, fast internet, lots of seating for laptop work, warm jacket and they will give you a blanket and sit at the fire at night watching the moon pass by. Many plants. Caring staff. An Oasis in a city which can be quite hectic - great place to recover from a party (or 2 or 3).. Comfortable beds with wood frame which don't make noise when people get up in the night. Big, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher for tired hands. Comfortable courtyard seats adjacent to the kitchen to enjoy your meal with some sun if you want. Loads more. Live chicken reality TV. Movie nights on big screen in comfy lounge. Hosts who care. Loved it. Good locker system.

Perfect for solo travellers. Felt completely safe. Owners are super friendly. Really social place with a nightly bonfire where everyone sits and chats/drinks etc, such a lovely vibe
