How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Wifi is very weak and dropped off frequently. The hotel is rather basic and doesn't justify the price. Breakfast isn't served at all, luckily a bakery is in walking distance.
Very central (right next to the train station) yet very quiet.

The "check-in" and "check-out" were "surrealistic" experiences. To check out I was outside the hotel, waiting under the rain about 15 minutes, soaking wet, ringing bells, until I heard the wife of the owner talking inside the restaurant belonging to the hotel, the restaurant was closed.
It is very central, just 150 meters from the train station. It is a family owned business, so to find the "hotel reception" was a bit difficult in the beginning". There is namely no reception so you have to ring the bell of the private apartment of the owners. And for that you have to guess which one it is.

Mattress could be firmer. Breakfast as option would be nice. Restaurant is closed on Mondays. But for the price no complaints.
Right beside train so handy. Quiet street. Very clean. Shutters for black out. Good pressure shower. Incredible value.

Nothing really. It’s relatively cheap, so not to expect too much luxury. But the value is still excellent.

Nothing to complain about, it is simple - but cheap. And it is great value
The restaurant! And the how warm-full the owners are! I imagine it must be great in the summer, with the terrasse and the Biergarten (it was raining). Great value!

very bad, very small room, and you have to leave the room into the corridor to go to the bathroom, it's terrible, there is no kettle and terrible internet, cleaning in the room and in the bathroom, unfortunately, this only means replacing the trash can, everything else is very bad

The shower was unbelievably loud my ears were ringing, the shower head needs to be replaced. The shower holder was broken so you need to be short or hold the shower head in your hand. My roommate turned the shower on, it whipped around and sprayed water out of the shower onto the floor.
Easy check-in/check out Windows were open (December) but closed them and left heating on so it was fine. Easy parking, good food downstairs, nice staff. Comfortable bed, fluffy duvets, large floor space, working WiFi

The shower cabine was half open. You could hear the noises from the neighbours from the floor.
The WLAN and the cleanliness was great. The parking facilities were also really great.

No room service at all in 3 days Dirty carpet When shower all water come out there's no door or curtain in shower. Towel in bathroom full wet of shower water all 3 days nobody come to change it Noisy door and very loud noisy cupboard
No breakfast even no kettle for warm water. No water bottle or even disposable glasses. No fridge at all.

There was no reception, notes were left on the entrance door informing what rooms we had and keys were left in room doors. The restaurant did not open on the evening of our arrival. Another guest arrived looking for reception because no key or room was left for him. Hot room, no fan, primitive 1960 furniture. Room listing includes a balcony and patio, neither of our rooms had either of these.
A friendly cleaning person on the day after our arrival who tried to be helpful when we explained the no one opened the restaurant on the first morning to serve breakfast the we paid for when we booked the rooms.
