The spacious room could be might totally dark with the blinders and it was very quiet (no buzzing noises etc). This resulted in a great night of sleep.

The hotel staff were very polite and helpful. The room was very nice. It's very large with an outside area. Parking was available next to the annexe where I was in. The Greek restaurant next door was very good, try the lamb, beautiful. The Hotel was also very, very dog friendly, so much so I thought the lady on reception would steal my little puppy.

There was a kitchenette, but for strange health and safety reasons, it was switched off.

It was quite and close to shops

It was the most uncomfortable hotel room I ever visited. Two days was a hell. The room was stuffed and the air was so humid. The carpet was full of dust, my two kids and myself kept awake for the first two nights as they were reacting to the dust. The vent in the room was so dusty. My son kept coughing and sneezing. Day 3 I was moved to a loft room which was better in terms of air but very uncomfortable as we kept bumping our heads on the ceiling as we are all tall people. The bed was very uncomfortable. Horrible four night of my life. I was going to write to booking.com and I saw this email to say they need to refund me as the hotel was not ready for visitors yet. The house keeper kept coming to me at 9am to clean the room, came 3 times and I said we were on holiday why do you want to disturb my rest time.

The location was perfect for us as it’s just a short walk from our friend’s house. The room was warm, quiet and clean.

The bath plug didn’t seal the bath and the shower sprayed water in all directions. The room, although comfortable, was rather dated.

Our room was very large and very well equipped. it was nice to have a small kitchenette areas. The bathroom was also large and well equipped. Very clean.

Probably because it is winter, check-in was via intercom. The whole downstairs area felt like the Mary Celeste, and a bit spooky!

I recently stayed at Residenz Royal in Sandhausen, just a short drive from the beautiful city of Heidelberg, and it was absolutely perfect. The location offered the best of both worlds: peaceful surroundings with easy access to Heidelberg’s historic charm and vibrant culture. The accommodations were immaculate, with stylish decor that combined comfort and modern amenities. My room featured two cozy extra large beds, two bathrooms, kitchen, dinning table, private outdoor area seating, two large tv's in both rooms, and thoughtful touches like complimentary snacks and a guide to nearby attractions. What truly stood out was the hospitality. The staff were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was memorable. They provided excellent tips for exploring Heidelberg, from must-see landmarks like the Heidelberg Castle to hidden gems in the old town. The proximity to Heidelberg made it easy to enjoy the city’s highlights while still returning to a tranquil retreat at the end of the day. Breakfast was a standout, with fresh pastries, local jams, and delicious coffee that fueled my adventures. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with Heidelberg just a short drive away, Residenz Royal is an exceptional choice. The wifi is exceptional and gym is also available 24/7. We'll definitely be returning!

Laundry and basic cooking facility were provided. One of the receptionists was helpful (while the other one seemed a little abrupt)

Cleaniness - cobwebs and ants were found in the second room, cigarette smell in the first room (which was subsequently changed after we raised the matter to the hotel reception). Even so, the second room still smelled a little funny, possibly from the dated mattresses or duvets...

Good location for visiting friends in Sandhausen. Nearby supermarket great for breakfast.

Hotel seemed a bit dated and old fashioned. Breakfast rather pricey but I was able to eat in the supermarket which was very close.
