How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There was a lot of banging and clattering outside each morning around 6 am, which was disturbing. Although we appreciate the traditional style, the large old furniture in the room felt unnecessary and was mot useful.
The inclusive breakfast was very good.

The breakfast could have been better and the rooms a bit larger.
The only great thing about this hotel was its location near Munich Center, Marienplatz. The other benefit was that the hotel was 500m away from the tram stop. The room was very small for two people and we could hardly move in the room. The breakfast was the same every day for 6 days. Overall, because of the location and the tram stop was convenient.

Entrance a challenge and no elevator which is a challenge with a heavy bag

Fair! Location is great, clean, a no thrills type of accommodation with no amenities normally available in a hotel, i.e., kettle, hair dryer.

Other guests next door came in late and I heard them snoring through the wall, which disturbed my sleep.
Almost ideal location for my last night in Munich. They let me check in slightly early (so I could stash my large bag and other stuff before going to some museums).

The place really needs renovation. The friendliness and breakfast cannot cover for the absolutely bad rooming situation. Gaps in the floor, dirt on the wall, the door needs to be shut via key or it will not stay closed.

Very "tired" decor and fittings. Broken tiles. Shower fitting did not stay in position. Had to request a kettle, despite all room descriptions mentioning one. Thin walls meant noise from next room. Reception closed in the evening: I was lucky - my key code was left on the front door; another guest arrived late and could not get in.
Location was excellent. Breakfast was good.

Circulation in the bathroom was difficult, space was used up to the millimeter. The shower could be improved so that everything doesn't get wet. Overall the room was clean, but more attention could be paid to the general cleaning of dust on the posts and lamps. Some repairs are starting to be needed (painting, cables...) The TV didn't pick up any channels, but I didn't complain because I didn't use it.
The location was excellent. Breakfast was good, maybe it could include some fresh fruit to be perfect. The pillows were perfect for my preferences. The temperature was nice.

Curtain was thin and didn’t block out any light. Walls also thin and we could hear noise/music from next door. No bedside lights or bedside tables. Bathroom very small. No lift, 4 flights of stairs to our room
This was the most affordable accommodation we could find in Munich during Oktoberfest. It’s a decent basic place. Close to Marienplatz which is good for the subway. Quite a long walk from Theresienweise

All positive.
A nice and clean room with fresh towels daily and a very comfortable bed. The buffet breakfast was great also. The place could do with a touch-up really, but considering the excellent location,very close to the Viktualienmarkt and Marienplatz, and the pricing, it is definitely a hotel to consider when visiting Munich.

Old pension and old furniture. Was quiet hot in the room.
The location is very good. But quite expensive for one night. Rooms was really small, and we had two small beds, instead of one big. But it was very clean in the room. Breakfast was good.
