Mmmh....everything was awesome for me.

I checked in late when no one was at the reception, but when I called the number indicated, they helped me on how to open the main door with a code and this really touched me. The room is very spacious and clean. Also the breakfast was awesome

The check-in lady was definitely a “Sauer Kraut,” and even the evening waitress complained about our arrival “late,” one hour BEFORE they closed !

Excellent location for Wittenberg with a fantastic Frühstück (breakfast! And reasonably priced parking very close to the hotel. Restaurant was very good, but perhaps a bit overpriced. Room was not large - others looked bigger- but it worked for one night (sorry that we couldn’t stay longer 🥲) and the bathroom was sufficient. The morning breakfast attendant was excellent- made up for the others the night before (see below).

We speak almost no German and had some trouble communicating with desk clerk on check in during the evening. She seemed impatient with us when asking questions to clarify parking, late entry, breakfast time etc. The breakfast was delicious. Parking was very convenient. Hotel location is perfect for visiting Wittenberg city square, christmas market and All Saints' Church.

For a short while, I could hear someone in another room with the TV on too loud. And my sensitive hearing did hear someone somewhere snoring.

It was barely a 10 minute walk from the Wittenberg Alt Stadt station. The hotel is mere blocks from the Stadtskirche and Alte Ratshausplazt. It is walkable to all the major sites from the hotel. Staff were exceptionally helpful and accommodating. The single room was very clean and the Wi-Fi worked well. It had a beautiful view of the old town church towers. Breakfast had both hot and cold offerings and of course freshly baked warm Brotchen (like small baguettes) coffee, tea, juice. I would recommend Hotel Pension Schwanenteich to solo travelers who don't mind carrying luggage from public transportation.

Heavy rainfall woke me up in the middle of the night, as it resonated quite loudly in the room – maybe the windows and/or walls are not isolated very well? There's an elevator, but I believe it can't be used after 8:30 pm since a separate night entrance (with no access to the elevator) has to be used then. Not a problem for me, but maybe for others.

Room was very spacious and quite modern for such an old-looking building; it had AC and the bathroom had ventilation that turned on and off automatically. There's a complimentary water bottle in the room, and you get a ready-made table with your own basket of buns, coffee jug, etc. for breakfast. Staff is very nice and helpful too.
