Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandSome things were somewhat unclean but again, for the price, it's great. Check-in was a little confusing.
For the price you're paying, it's absolutely worth it. Room is spacious and has everything you'll need for a short stay. It's great if you want to stay in Frankfurt after a concert at the nearby Batschkapp.

United KingdomThe only thing I'd say about the comfort of my stay is the oversized double bed mattress and that there was no headboard unfortunately. So it wasn't good to sit up in bed and read a book. Just something to think about in the future for the management. Also the mattress was quite springy and like airy. But look, it's fine))))))
The Pension Seckbach apartment was a single room with a double bed, table with kettle, fridge, and wardrobe which was very adequate for my overnight stay. On the ground floor where I stayed was a communal bathroom with a bath AND shower unit which was nice! There was also shower gel provided and it was a nice touch. Also the fresh and neatly folded toilets were very welcoming! I chose this location because it was very near to the Batschkapp Music Venue! So for me the location which is about a 50 minute train journey from the centre at Will Brandt-Platz by the main train station to KruppstraBe station (the nearest station for lines U4 and U7 to the Pension apartment). If or when I come back to Frankfurt I'd stay here again for the good price per night and location! There is a MacDonalds, Burger King, and late night petrol station off licence too just off KruppstraBe station! Overall, I'm very happy with the accommodation for a single light traveller such as myself, and with the apartment administrator, he was cool. Thanx

GermanyThe building is right next to an auto shop, and there was some noise. But nothing that made it a bad experience.
I needed an inexpensive room for one night, and this fit the bill perfectly. The bed was comfortable, and the shared bathroom was very clean.

CanadaWhile I do recommend this affordable, comfortable and very clean hotel, this is a bit of a weird place. This is a potential gold mine - but cannot be at the moment owing to a strange lack of customer service and basic amenities. There were no food facilities - not even coffee machines or vending machines, or even a kettle in the room (easy to provide) which meant that I had to walk to the tram stop area to even get a coffee in the morning. When I asked the men at the desk (who were kind) whether there was a kitchen, they said "no." (I could see a really nice large kitchen area in the next room!!) They didn't say "No - we are in the process of renovating it" or "no - that is for our guests who have paid extra" - just "NO." When asked where one could get food they said "Go to McDonalds or Burger King" - very dismissive as if food should not be a concern of people staying in a hotel for a number of days! It was really strange behavior and I spoke in German so it cannot be language-related. Also weird was when I asked if there was a public laundry machine (again, useful to have in a hotel like that), they said "No." and then finally when I asked where one could do laundry nearby, the man said "just do it in ours when we are not using it" (which I did and which was nice of him - but there was no policy in place or laundry facilities for the guests - he was just dismissive!) The Wifi was fine so maybe they are improving - but still have a ways to go in terms of putting small things in place and being more responsive to make stays more positive.
Property was absolutely spotless and clean. The bed was basic but comfortable and you get a table with a table cloth to put food items. The property is not far from the tram stop in a peaceful green area which was a lovely retreat at the end of a long day. The man at the desk was pleasant. The cleaning ladies who keep the place spotless were kind and helpful.

NetherlandsThere was a wifi code on the desk, but there was in fact no such wifi network. When I went down to ask about this, they explained the wifi does not reach the third floor. Since mobile data is awful here too, the only way to get any conenction is to go down to the first floor and sit on the stairs. There is no curtain either. This is a big city with a lot of light pollution and worse, I visited in summer. To say a sleep mask was a requirement is an understatement. In the morning (6 o'clock) the Sun shone into my room and it was so bright it woke me even through my sleep mask. Because the room is pretty stark white too, I ended up having to put on sunglasses while getting ready for the day. Between the Spartan room, no curtains, and no wifi this place might get a pretty good second life as a monastery.
The receptionist was nice and friendly. Check-in was easy. It is very far from the centre, but that's no problem at all because the U-Bahn stops right down the street and goes straight to the centre, so it's actually easy to reach and well connected. The room is simple and straightforward, spartan even, but most things you need are there. It is quite cheap.

ItalyWe didn’t know that there isn’t actual booking. We could have gotten the code for getting the key in the locker through email / message. Instead we had to call when on premise to be told the code and worry if we would arrive too late to the premises. Also, the road leading to Pension was closed and we had to look for a detour (despite speaking to the premise beforehand a few times, this was never mentioned).

CanadaCheck-in instructions were not provided before hand, and there was no staff present for the entire 3 days we were there. We had to rely on a nice German couple with a phone to call the manager for us to check us in, as we had no foreign phone plan and check in is only over the phone. There was also no access to a kettle or washing machines despite saying so on the listing. The shared bathroom was also rarely cleaned, with full garbages and empty/leaking hand soap all over the sink. There was also no extra toilet paper and we ran out during our stay.
