We had a nice room which appeared to have been reasonably recently renovated. They also gave us an upgrade to a business suite, which was much appreciated. Staff were great.

The fan in the bathroom comes on with the light and is very loud. It is on a timer, so it doesn’t stop for quite a while after the light is turned off . This makes it difficult to use the bathroom in the night if you need light.

We have stayed at this hotel more than a dozen times, including when it was owned by a different company but we were still given a room overlooking the busy road rather than a lovely park view. The weekend breakfast service doesn't start till 7am now which delayed our journey start.

All staff are outstanding, really pleasant and helpful. The fridge in the room is useful, and it's great to have a kettle for hot drinks rather than the coffee machines they used to have which meant we couldn't have tea in the past. The shower is excellent; hot and powerful. The breakfast is very good; although some of the gluten free bread came out hard the staff were lovely and replaced it with a different type immediately. The location is superb: close to restaurants and a shopping mall with a good supermarket, and a lovely park for fresh air after a journey.

Parking instructions not clear but the staff helped me. Windows open fully even on the upper floors…look out for your children!

We selected the hotel as it stated that there was a restaurant. We needed the restaurant as our daughter was too unwell to go out for dinner. When we arrived we were told it was closed. This should have been made clear at the time of booking.

The location was excellent and I felt we got food value for money. The rooms were more than adequate and well appointed.

There is only a coffee maker, unable to make herbal teas. The hand wash in the bathroom does not smell nice, a functional product rather than a luxury version. We paid extra for a business room, we understand the the Plaza chain intend to upgrade the hotel and we recommend they consider upsizing the basic double beds as a priority. The price has increased by about 50% since they took over around 12 months ago and there is very little sign of any benefit to the customer for the extra cost.

Staff were pleasant, some recognised us as repeat visitors and were very friendly & welcoming. The room was very clean. The view over the park is lovely. The breakfast is excellent and very nice gluten free bread was supplied on request. Very convenient as a stopover as close to the motorway.

The television was too small for the distance from the bed. The bar and restaurant is only open Monday to Friday, and the kitchen manager even decided to close the kitchen on Friday night.

Located within walking distance of downtown. You had to pay extra for breakfast, but it was reasonable and very good.

The toiletries (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and handwash) weren't filled so once I got into the shower I found there was no shower gel or shampoo. The room has lots of hanging space for clothes but strangely there was only 1 shelf in the wardrobe. We stayed in a business class room both times - these are advertised as including a bathrobe and slippers but we were not given these on either visit.

This time round (3 weeks on from my last visit) the breakfast has improved: better choice of fruit juice, very good (ripe) fruit choices and my wife was offered a choice of gluten free bread. We were allocated a room with a lovely view of the adjoining park.

This hotel has changed hands in the last 6 months. The breakfast is not as good as it used to be, and they haven't changed the coffee makers in the room - fiddly, unsuitable for teamaking, a kettle would be much better. It is more expensive than it used to be. No English channels on the tv.

The bed is very comfortable, good wardrobe space and very good fridge for storing own drinks etc. Bathroom small, toiletries supplied and plenty of hot water. Breakfast has good variety of hot & cold food but no gluten free bread despite requesting it and my wife was actually offered something containing gluten when she asked.
