Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Germany- Internet was barely working in our room (#11) - Not a fan of the German concept of having a gap in a double bed in general 😀

FinlandThe room faced the restaurant terrace so it got a bit loud in evenings, after that it was peaceful at nights. Not a big problem. Big groups were somewhat noisy at times.
Location is great, building and interiors beautiful. Staff is friendly and helpful but very busy. Restaurant prepared absolutely delicious food, and as there was only one option for a vegan+fish diet, they were friendly enough to prepare a dish outside the menu - much appreciated! Also breakfast was vegan friendly. The room was very beautiful and big enough, and it was nice to have so many windows.

United KingdomUnfortunately we were given a room above the beer garden and the side entrance to the Hotel. It was exceedingly noisy (people talking on phones/smoking) throughout the night.
A reasonably comfortable room with all you need for an overnight stay. It's situated in a pretty little town. The staff were friendly enough. A good breakfast

United KingdomThe only thing that prevents me from giving a higher score is that it is very impersonal - it’s hard to believe that this is a family-run hotel. The entire old interior has been ripped out to create a modern, sleek environment but in my opinion it’s taken out the soul of the place. It’s functional and totally without charm. There are few pictures on the blank white walls. Also, we should have had water glasses in our room, and it would have made it more personal to have been offered free bottled water, as happens in many hotels.
An excellent location right in the centre of the old city, yet very quiet, with its own free car park. It’s an ideal spot for visiting the town and served a very good breakfast with plenty of choice. We didn’t have dinner there, so can’t comment on that. Our bedroom was comfortable although the bed was on the firm side.

United KingdomStrangly we didn't have any curtains on our room. Although we were not concerned about privacy - we weren't overlooked - it meant that the room wasn't dark through the night, and if you are a light sleeper, the arrival of dawn meant we were awake earlier than normal if it had been possible to draw the curtains
The Hotel-Restaurant Ochsen is a regular venue for us, and although the restaurant wasn't open when we stayed, the breakfast was as ever excellent. Its central location and free car park make visiting Blaubeuren easy, and the town is a very friendly place

United KingdomA bit pricey and the lack of food and drink
Here for an overnight stay. As it was a Sunday the bar and restaurant were closed so we found an alternative just up the road Our room was acceptable despite it looking into a walkway and a wall. Comfy bed and good bathroom. Ample parking to the rear The hotel is in the centre of Blaubeuren and we spent the following morning exploring this very attractive town

United StatesWas odd that there was a full length door that opened to nothing but a railing. My room was one of only three that didn’t have elevator access. The staff did help me with carrying my stuff upstairs.
Very comfortable bed . Nicely furnished. A big corner room with lots of windows for light. Close to everything in town. Pleasant staff.

MontenegroThe some of the individual staff members should be more proactive towards guests because the kitchen is said to be open until 21:30. Since we arrived at that time, upon we check in we lost a precios 6 minutes. Only 6 minutes later we asked if the restaurant was open and we were told that it was not and thats it. The least that is expected is that the guest is offered an alternative dish or any kind of meal, since no other restaurant is open at that time and in that region, so you will most likely have to wait for breakfast 🤷 ♂️

United KingdomIndifferent wi-fi, which isn't super in every room was an issue for us on this visit. We've had better experiences with some rooms, but if internet access is important, and your a business visitor, it could be an issue
A regular place for us to visit, because it offers everything that we need. The rooms are comfortable, and the welcome always warm. Excellent restaurant, and super breakfast means that you leave well fed, and looking forward to the next visit

GermanyThe only disappointing thing is that the charm of the Fachwerk and old building doesn't continue into the room. The interior lime green and furniture with absolutely no character was disappointing after coming through the lobby and climbing the stairs. Also, when I booked a double room, it was not clear that the bed would be two singles pushed together.
The location is excellent. Parking so easy- which in Europe is hard to come by. The breakfast was excellent for being included in the room fee. The hotel was very quiet and the bed was comfortable.
