How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

All was good for us!
We really enjoyed the deluxe room with courtyard view for during our 3 night stay. Beds were comfortable, it was extremely quiet and views of the cathedral tower and skyline from the windows and huge balcony were very nice. The front desk staff during check-in and throughout the stay were pleasant and helpful. The included breakfast more than met our needs. My spouse is gluten intolerant and the breakfast provided gluten-free bread and muffins, so her needs were accommodated. We also really liked the location as it was close to museums, attractions, many dining options and a short walk to train stations.

It's a really good choice for a night before a flight out of FRA. Easy 10 minute walk to Konstablerwache S-bahn. Right on a pleasant part of the river. Comfortable room at a decent price.

It would've been great to have a kettle in the room. Additionally, they should put some chairs and tables on the roof deck, as there is such a lovely view of the city skyline from there. Not sure why they don't make it a feature.

Guests shall receive complimentary drinking water instead of relying on expensive minibars.
I'm truly looking forward to staying at this amazing place! The location is perfect, and the spacious room overlooking the river is sure to be a highlight. It’s only a quick 3-minute walk to Romerberg, which is so convenient! Plus, I can’t believe the great price for the room, and having a basement parking space for my car is such a nice bonus. It’s going to be a wonderful trip!

Being in the city center, it can take some patience to reach the hotel by car if there’s traffic. Also, we couldn’t manage to adjust the air conditioning properly.
Lovely hotel just a short walk from the center. Well-maintained and very clean, with spacious rooms (fun fact: the largest toilet I’ve ever seen in a hotel room! 🙂). Private garage accessible by car lift — a huge plus, as parking in the area is almost impossible. The hotel has three underground levels available for cars, making it very convenient. Excellent, high-quality breakfast.

Honestly, nothing to dislike – everything exceeded expectations.
Beautifully located right on the river with stunning views, Hotel Schopenhauer Hof combines elegance, comfort, and impeccable cleanliness. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.

Great sized room, black out blinds, aircon, friendly staff and great location. Lovely view of the river as well as parking on site which they allowed us to safely secure our bikes. One of the best value for money we stayed at on our bike tour!

The WiFi kept kicking me off and required support from reception to reconnect me, which was a little inconvenient. This is the only negative I can think of though and we enjoyed our stay.
A friendly, well appointed and located hotel. The rooms were of a good size, clean and comfortable. The hotel was walking distance to all of the sights. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the breakfast, although not included, was well worth the money.
