Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandThere is very little not to like. Just a couple of very small things : - 1) Unless you are down early for breakfast, things can run out or deteriorate (eg bacon sometimes ran out and was not replaced, scrambled eggs left in an open topped container became very dried out and cool) 2) Parking availability was confusing, especially as very little English is spoken. To explain - there are 17 rooms, but only 12 parking spaces. 3 of these spaces are bookable for €8.00 per night, so if they are available at the time of making your reservation, you can book them. Otherwise you must compete with others for the remaining 9 spaces. To complicate things for us, before we understood the situation just described, we were offered one of the 3 guaranteed parking spaces for 3 of the 8 nights we were staying But without understanding the situation, and not understanding German, we were told we could park at the train station on other nights. It was very confusing until Stefan arrived. He is the only member of the family who runs the hotel, who spoke English. Once he explained the arrangements, everything was OK. So, we parked in guaranteed parking for 3 nights, and on other days competed with other people for the remaining spaces. On only one occasion did we not get parking at the hotel, and so we parked at the station nearby for that night, which was not too costly.
We loved so many things about this hotel - the very friendly staff, the size of the room, the bathroom, the comfortable beds, the location, the cleanliness of the room, the modernity of room facilities. Parking availability most of the time.Thank you very much, Barbara, Stefan, George and family.

Netherlands- Limited amount of free parking spots available (less than the number of rooms); however for EUR 8 per night a parking spot can be reserved at the hotel. Alternative is to find a public (and payed) parking space somewhere around the hotel - No fridge (or minibar) available in the room, however cold drinks can be purchased in the central area
- Nice location: 5 min walk to the center of the village - Good breakfast, staff is continuously checking on availability of the items and adding food if it was running out - The people of the hotel are exceptionally friendly and always offering help, information, etc. - The rooms incl. bathroom are pretty new and everything is well maintained - Cold drinks are available during from the central room for reasonable prices - Secured "parking garage" available for bicycles

United StatesThey have workarounds for late arrivals, but a pretty narrow window of time if you want to arrive when someone is working the desk.
Exactly what I look for in a travel hotel. Great vibe. The building is architecturally interesting with a big room and high ceilings, yet has been renovated with good plumbing and floor heating. Side note: I don’t know what the deal is with towels in Europe. We’ve stayed in plenty of expensive, high-end hotels on the continent with towels so rough and scratchy I wouldn’t use them to dry my car. But these guys have really nice smooth towels and bedding. It sounds minor, but we so much appreciated that. Breakfast is better than average for this range of hotel.

United StatesHarder to get a parking space on the weekend.
We had an excellent stay. Our room, 315, had a balcony overlooking the river. The room was a good size for 2 people. The shower was very good. We enjoyed having breakfast every morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even with the language barrier. Easy walk to old town Cochem.

United StatesIt was high summer and there is no AC. It had a control unit but it did nothing. Even opening the window did not make it very cool in the room.
Breakfast was amazing, eating it on the patio with the view was incredible.

GermanyThis hotel was very beautiful, in a beautiful old building with great historic features. But our room was modern and cozy, not old-fashioned at all, with floor heating for toasty feet. It was also maybe the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. They also made late check-in very easy. If I were ever in Cochem again, I would stay here for sure.

GermanyReally nothing to complain about given the type/style of hotel. If you want super modern/quiet etc you won't really find much like it in the region anyway, so for the type of hotel this is, it was totally great.
Lovely classic style hotel in a very convenient location in Cochem. It's a little bit out of the louder busy area but only by a minute or two of walking so felt safe. Looks very nice from the outside and the renovations inside were great. It is an older building so with that you should expect not the best sound isolation but for a short stay it really didn't matter. The room was a good size and the bathroom/water pressure etc were modern if not a little small. The highlight was the family who own/work there, who were very helpful and accommodating. We wanted to check out extremely early as we had a long drive ahead, and although breakfast wasn't officially open they insisted we pack some food with us and made sure we had a hot tea for the road as well. It's the kind of no nonsense care that goes beyond 'service' which is always a delight to find at smaller hotels.

SingaporeThe property was good but I think the main road in front was a little busy during the day. At night it was quiet.
It’s near to the train station also city centre. The room was spacious with the river view. Stefan was very friendly and helpful. He gave the best recommendations to help me enjoy my time in Cochem. Breakfast spread was fantastic, all staff in breakfast room were polite and friendly. Loved the terrace.
