Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceNothing major but the lights switching off automatically after like 15 seconds in the toilets and bathrooms mean you have to constantly move to keep them on. Which isn't very handy.
Super well located, spacy rooms, beautifully decorated, quiet and comfortable beds.

Germany* I've paid 5 euro deposit for a lock, but when I was leaving, there was no one to give me the money back. I rang the bell, but no one showed up in 2-3 minutes. I was a bit in a rush, so I left * The hostel is a bit pricey comparing to other hostels, but considering how clean and nice it is - imho that's fair
I've stayed in 3 other hostels in Berlin and this one is the only one I don't mind to stay again. Very clean. The showers are comfortable and clean as well. The room was really nice. Instead of classical hostel beds, they've built a construction out of wood. It contributes to the stability of the bed, so the bed is not shaking when the neighbor climbs into his/her bed. Probably I'll stick to this hostel during my travels to Berlin.

ColombiaThe only thing is that I left on little bottle of conditioner in the bathroom and someone took it, just don’t leave your things outside.
I LOVED IT!! It has great energy everywhere!!! So comfortable even if you’re staying in the shared bedrooms.

PolandHad a small issue with door closing, the door did not lock even after providing code and turning lock.
I really like the beds because unlike in other hostels you have a lot of space for your stuff even if you sleep in the top bed.

United KingdomThe location isn’t amazing if you don’t want to take public transport. Outside the hostel also felt unsafe sometimes.
The dorms were clean, large and safe. There was lots of room to put your stuff even if you were on a top bunk (bed side drawer for example). The kitchen had good facilities and the bathrooms were always clean.

CanadaThe lights in the showers and toilets were automatic and motion-sensing but turned off way too quickly. I kept having to flail my arms in the shower so that I wouldn't be stuck in the dark. They need to be more sensitive. Also, would have liked to keep the windows open wider on the first floor since there was a heat wave, but the windows are large and go right onto the street, so if fully open, someone literally could have just walked into our room from the street. Lastly, the door to the room doesn't auto-lock, which is somewhat convenient, but it also meant that the room wasn't locked a lot of the time and it just felt a little less secure than I'm used to.
This is a really nice hostel. Very clean and looks nice. Shared spaces are nice and the kitchen area is good and clean.

SwedenI stayed in a 8-bed mixed dorm (room #1) on ground floor for a few nights, where noise from street leaked in on some of the nights. So better prepare your own earplugs for a tight sleep!
Really friendly and helpful staff who gave me a nice hostel tour when I checked in, helped me with luggage storage when I was changing room in the hostel. Super clean and dedicated women toilets and shower rooms make me feel comfortable and relaxed.

NetherlandsThe lights of the toilet and showers switch off automatically which is fine but it is happening too shortly and sometimes you remain in the dark several times. Also the water from the shower switch off automatically but it is just too short and not enough even to wash a bit yourself. Also, there is written on the website that the check in time is from 9 but we actually had to wait several hours because it is not correct, this could be easily fixed just to set the right expectations.
Really happy with this hostel. Felt very safe. Privacy of the bed and space around you. Bathroom were good and always free. Bed is comfortable.

AustraliaNot much to dislike, maybe just remembering codes after I've had too much to drink haha.
Perfect location, Kreuzberg, if you know is where it's at. Kind of like the Brunswick (Melbourne) or Newtown of Sydney, Australia. Easy walking to Metros, plenty of ubers and bikes/scooters to get around. Close to oberbaumbrücke and East Side Gallery. Friendly hostel staff. Probably the best hostel I've stayed in.

SpainThe hostel is great and its location could not be better, in the middle of a vibrant district and a 15 minute walk away from a train station that connects to any point in the city. The room is very comfortable, with plenty of storage space and other facilities. Moreover, my partner and I used the shared kitchen every day of our stay in Berlin and we can confirm that it is perfectly equipped with everything you need to cook. Also, the hostel staff was at our disposition since day one to explain us how everything works, such as the kitchen and the bathrooms, as well as the code system for opening the doors. Whenever we had any concerns, we were free to ask the front desk or cleaning staff, who were very friendly and helpful. Overall, the ambiance of the common areas is also very good and makes it easy for guests to get along. On our next visit to the city, we will definitely choose to stay here again!
