Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumThe lobby and the carpeting in common areas is old and smells a bit. Breakfast was OK, can be improved. The lady at the breakfast only speaks German. Apparently, you have to pre-order your scrambled eggs (don't know how were we supposed to know this). Parking was not easy, but we luckily found a space close by. Wifi- choppy.
The Pool and sauna are good. The checkin- check out was no nonsense and was done in a jiffy. The rooms are spacious. On street parking was cheap, Parking after 8 is free. The interior, although run-down, is functional, with no leaks and smells in the bathroom / toilets.

United KingdomDecor is rather dated (early 1980s ?), but not a problem (and is reflected in the price). Lack of eating options if you arrive after around 21:45 - but that's a Saarbruecken problem and nothing the hotel can fix.
Good value hotel for an overnight family stay on a long road journey. Large, clean, quiet room. Everything works. Good breakfast. Easy walk into the centre. Didn't investigate the pool and spa (no time).

United KingdomThe location was close to the main route we used. It was good proximity for us to take a walk along the riverside with the option of utilising one of the open air eateries. We were near the tram stops as well. The hotel allowed us to park our motorcycle right outside which set our minds at rest. The breakfast was lovely with a great variety of things on offer.

BelgiumDirty carpets … a lot of dust .. and in the evening there are Cockroaches climbing on my daughter’s arm while sleeping and we found some in the bathroom 🫣😬,and when we reported in the reception about the cockroaches, one receptionist is kind to accept the incident but one mean receptionist insisted with mean approach that it’s not cockroaches but it’s a fly . But we have a photo of these cockroaches , so they cannot lie.

SloveniaIt is an older hotel so sound insulation was not so good as one would like.
Breakfast was served in a special floor with good choice of food. Parking was in front of the hotel but on public soil so we had to get a ticket, was quite cheap (1,70 EUR) As a last minute choice the hotel was more than good. We could find plenty of food joints in the vicinity for dinner in spite of being there on Monday (lots were closed).

FranceThe decoration needs to be redone.
Small oldfashioned hotel close to the centre of Saarbrücken. The decoration is rather old but the room had what was needed and it was very quiet. We slept well. The breakfast included was very good.

CanadaNot enough power outlets in the room to charge phone, laptop etc..
It's my standard hotel to go to when I'm visiting Saarbruecken since they have an indoor pool. Location is excellent, close to the St. Johanner Market and The Staden. The rooms are pretty small and a bit older but still okay. wifi works well, breakfast is good and staff is generally nice.

GermanyBeds were a bit dated, and some staff were not overly friendly.
located in a street near the centre, this hotel had all that we needed, easy to walk to eateries, and we luckily scored a parking spot right in front of the entrance and could put money into the Parking meter for the next morning already the night before. Use of the indoor swimming pool for no extra charge was a bonus on top of a reasonable room rate for an older hotel, and the included breakfast was quite tasty

United KingdomNo where really to leave my motorbike overnight. I had to leave it out the front but nothing happened to it so not too bad. Room didn’t feel too clean and had a really bad smell.
The sauna and swimming pool were great. Really good selection for breakfast. Reception very welcoming and helpful. Location good, short walk to city centre.

United KingdomWe usually add a filter, when travelling by car, to have car parking available. I guess I missed that this time, as there is no hotel parking. We did find a space outside the hotel, but it is pay-and-display.
About 1 km walk on a pleasant evening to the main square, with bars and restaurants. Quite inexpensive.

United KingdomIt is advertised as having parking which is the main reason we booked it. However they emailed me saying there was none. There is about ten public parking spaces outside the door. Paid for between 0800 and 2000. As we arrived at 2000 we only had to pay for time after 0800 the morning of our departure. 2.30 euros. You can only stay for 3 hours max though between these times. The concierge was unhelpful with assisting us with this. He just shrugged when I asked for help. We managed to squeeze in though unable to open one of our doors. The area is not great. Supermarket closed over the road. A few good places and a petrol station.
Great retro 70’s feel to this hotel. Pool was nice but we didn’t use it due to time constraints. Room was comfortable. No air con. Small tv. Breakfast was nice. Breads, meats, cheeses, salad, toast, jams, tea, coffee etc.

United StatesStaff for the breakfast was unfriendly, cleaning up and putting away before the 10am deadline. Layout for breakfast confusing. The Cart you think was for coffee was actual clean stuff waiting to be stacked. 8am cleaning was making noise in the hallway opening and shutting doors and taking loudly. Parking was hit of miss, with most spaces saved for residents. Doors to room large gaps, so you could hear all noise as people went up and down the stairs
Ides had a jet pool on lower level and small sauna with icebath. This was included in the price.
