Location is perfect , in quiet forest surrounding with view on the Ramstein castle ruin. Comfortable room, good bed and shower. Good coffees which are free of charge , and a lovely garden to sit in. Good dinner and breakfast.

The warmer in the bathroom not working

This is a very nice hotel in a beautiful and peaceful setting, perfect for hiking and exploring the surrounding nature. The road leading to the hotel is a bit narrow and bumpy, but it’s absolutely worth the drive. The hotel manager was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was decent and satisfying. Also, it’s conveniently close to Trier, which makes it a great base for visiting the city.

It's a place the a great view to the Eifel, just below the ruin of Burg Ramstein. In kräuterhotel Villa Vontenie you're the guest of the house.

Breakfast could be improved a bit: quality of breads not too good, not fresh. Only hardboiled eggs. Beads are not very suitable for large persons (> 1.85 m).

Would have appreciated some soap and/or shower gel for the price. Had more service with lesser pay in other places… We hiked the eifelsteig with heavy luggage and didn’t bring soap or shampoo which is normally provided airbnb’s, guess we are a bit spoiled… so - bring you own!

Great location far away from traffic, plenty parking spaces available. Love the concept of “herb hotel”, indeed their garden had plenty of beautiful herbs. Breakfast was outside on terrace with fresh air and view of the castle and trees. Bed was super comfortable, great mattress.

In the past few days I spent 3 nights in this lovely hotel, together with 2 friends. We each had our own room which was pefrectly in line with what we booked. The owners, Jeroen and Annetta, were very hospitable and friendly. They made us feel welcome and helped us out with every request or question we had. The location of the hotel is just perfect - very quiet, overlooking a valley and just 50 meters away from the ruins of Burg Ramstein. If you come here to walk / hike, you are in the right spot. What was really great was the cooking done by Jeroen. We had dinner in the hotel on two evenings and the food was amazing ! Mind you, there is no à la carte dining, there is a predetermined menu and you can simply opt in or opt out. We highly recommend to opt in though, the food was just great. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a beautiful and quiet location and great food in the evening. If you want to visit Trier, know that it is only 10 minutes away by car. This time I was on my motorbike with two friends but each of us said that we would come back with our respective wives for some further relaxing here ! (Oh and BTW: next to the hotel you will find 5 charging poles with two connectors each to charge your electric car should you have one)

However the philosophy of the hotel owner is self-service. In other words, it was very likely a self-service for making up your own room (no cleaning during the stay), the table for breakfast was not prepared and similar. For the price we have paid, it was not appropriate and we have been very surprised as there are no comments on the Booking page.

Beautiful location to spend a few days relaxing. Hosts are exceptional and do everything they can to make your stay comfortable. The dinner, prepared by the hosts themselves, is a must have :-). Will visit again !

A lot of spiders in both the bed- and bathroom. Even upon checking in (I could understand some finding their way in eventually, but the rooms didn't feel cleaned). The showerhead was broken on check-in and I couldn't help but feel that we were blamed instantly, it did get fixed immediately. Hard time getting a decent temperature in the shower, abysmal pressure. No fridge to cool water for later outdoor activities in hot weather (didn't expect one) and pretty expensive drinking options (5 euro / 75cl water?). Not in hotel control: There are not a lot of things to do besides hiking. Indoor smoking by our neighbors.

Clean sheets, large bed. Balcony. Very good evening meal (BBQ) by the host. The basic breakfast was good but slightly overpriced for the variety offered. Friendly hostess. Bike storage. Easy/plenty parking close by. Hot shower. Superb hiking trails nearby. Good mountainbike paths, 45min roadbike path to Trier. Good mountain/hill views (balcony doesn't mean line of sight to the tower, the main building blocks direct view)

Our recent stay at Kräutervilla was deeply disappointing. We encountered several serious issues: - The room cleanliness was substandard, with numerous insects present. We had to remove over 20 spiders ourselves. - We experienced rude and unprofessional treatment from the staff, including the owners. We tried to resolve this with a member of my family and while the owners excused there behaviour it didn't stop until the end of the stay. - There were problems with basic services like room cleaning and breakfast policies. We were told we were not getting any of these. Removing our trash became a nightmare. We didn't find a way and used a public trash bin if the Toilette which made the owner go against us in an unpleasant way - We felt unwelcome as German guests, perceiving a bias towards Dutch visitors. - The atmosphere was not family-friendly, with a predominance of older guests. - The owner kicked and pushed me twice while checkout. This person is dangerous. Overall, this was an unpleasant experience that fell far short of our expectations for hospitality and comfort. I cannot recommend this hotel based on our stay.

The garden of the hotel is nice and it's so rounded by great nature. Hiking is wonderful in this area. There is a castle 2 mins close to the hotel which is worth a visit.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Only one thing I was missing was a tea corner so had to ask in the bar which costed me 3e. Apart from that was wonderful stay with a beautiful surroundings!

Be aware that the road coming up to the hotel is very narrow and winding, so take care when driving!

Dinner was amazing, so fresh and delicious! It was incredibly special to sit outside with the view of the castle, drinking a lovely wine.

Sorry but I did not give such a poor review before. I do want to be direct and be open. I want to stress on 2 points based on my experience. Not well organised( towels and napkins were missing in the rooms). They mentioned they shall say instructions only once then I thought very well organised but we found the rooms are not ready I'm terms of towels and napkins. Staff were unfriendly. That I disliked the words they said to me and I made them clear that those words I found were offensive to me. I hope they will be friendly with next customers
