I would have like to have at least a couple of beverages from the mini-bar included in the price per night, other than that I cannot say I did not like the place or the amenities provided!

The location is quite great. It's close to the Zoo and you can also take a stroll along the Rhine. It's a quiet area and easy to reach by foot or even by tram, from the Cologne Dome.

No place to enjoy a coffee with a croissant during the day, either in or around the hotel.

Perfect breakfast! Very helpful staff! 24-hour reception service! Plenty of parking available near the hotel at an affordable price.

Very clean, quiet hotel with old-fashioned charm, 20 min walk along the Rhine to the centre or a 2-stop trip on U-Bahn. The room had an air-conditioning device, which helped as it was hot in Cologne. Great buffet breakfast - sweet and savoury, lots of fruit, fresh bread, eggs, meat etc. Staff were kind and discreet.

We asked for a twin room and on arrival was allocated a double, although there was rectified very quickly.

Excellent location next to the rhine . Quiet neighbourhood but within walking distance to the old town. Room was excellent hotel was spotlessly clean and staff were exceptionally helpful.

The bed was pretty firm but other than that everything was great.

Very spacious room in a lovely old building. Breakfast provided a lot of options. The location is an easy 10-15 minute walk along the river.

Mattress too hard for my taste.

Breakfast was good but fruit a little discoloured. Location excellent for my needs. Decor very good. Lay-out and furniture in my room was good. Staff helpfulness excellent.

The hotel is a little way from the railway station and the central city area although it is accessible from the local underground and by walking along the river walkway.

The hotel is very comfortable and well equipped. The front office staff were very helpful. The room was very quiet. The breakfast was excellent.

The shower had a curtain rather than screen which is never good. I was disappointed that when I came back to the hotel in the evening, my half drank cup of tea was left on the table (even though the kettle was put away), a stain from a spilled tea on the bathroom floor was still there and the bed wasn't touched as it it was never made. I have never been in a hotel where that would happen.

The location is great. Right on the river and close to the centre - especially if you like walking. Breakfast was good and the breakfast room was perfectly adequate. I was given a list of local restaurants etc.

The beds and bedding have seen better days. For a 4-star hotel I would have expected better in our twin room (just shy of 600 euros for 2 nights). The breakfast buffet was a little on the small side, choice-wise, but it was OK. The tiny wash basin in the bathroom made shaving awkward. We couldn't find any international press in reception as it all appeared to be German.

Expensive for what it was - facilities pretty basic for a “4 star” rating. Imagine prices were increased drastically for the football, over double what I would expect to pay
