Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesRoom had a small 3 inch step up going across the room between the bed and the bathroom. We had to put a small table near the step up to remind us not to trip. You have to go down a very narrow residential road to get to the hotel.
Staff was very nice and helpful. Bed in room was comfortable. Parking was on site. Breakfast was very good and breakfast room had a very nice ambiance.

GermanyToo many pillows on the bed. The hotel takes 13 minutes by foot from the train station and is actually in Pfalzel, not Trier.
I loved the service provided by Christiana. She simply accommodated all our requests - starting from late check out to serving us last minute dinner - on 31st December. The room had a splendid view of the river. We even got the private salon area on the first floor to ourselves - turned out to be a romantic endeavour!! Despite being such an old hotel the infrastructure has been refurbished.

United StatesMy only problem was that the shower, which was not separated from the bedroom, had a full glass wall where you could see the person showering. Even though I'm married and we've seen it all before, I prefer the option of privacy in my showering.
We were traveling all day on Christmas Day and my (French-German) husband booked this small hotel as our stopover on the way to see family near Cologne. I'm not sure why I wasn't expecting much (maybe because the room was well-priced?), and was worried that the Christmas Dinner he had reserved (also in the hotel) would be not great. Boy was I wrong! A charming, historical space, very warm welcome, delicious food and wine and a cozy, pretty, comfy room. Even a lounge with coffee and an honor bar. If you find yourself in the area, definitely consider it!

GermanyView to the Mosel river also looks to a busy road a few hundred meters away (the noise is just a hiss though). We preferred rooms looking to the courtyard and the extremely helpful staff would always accommodate.
This is hotel located in a historic building, run by people who care. Our favorite stopover on the drive from South France to Northern Germany. Staff is extremely nice, helpful and accommodating, rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the restaurant serves great food and has a sommelier who gives great wine recommendations. Great value too.

GermanyShower drain was blocked. Hotel staff informed on booking out. Otherwise the room was lovely.
Beautiful conversion of an Abbey into a hotel. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We decided to eat in the hotel rather than venture into Trier, and the food was superb. It was a last-minute stop for us, but we will put it on the route to Spain and definitely stay again.

LithuaniaLovely,, charming place. I have got all expected - small boutique local hospitality experience. Cozy room, comfortable bed with a possibility to sleep with open window with a view to a river. Calm surroundings, a long promenade to walk or jogging (regrettably we did not take our dogs but this is too far journey by car for them!). Fancy restaurant with professional staff on site. Great property, felt like in auntie’s house in childhood. Safe parking. The city itself not far, you can reach it by car, train (1 stop) or by feet. The hosts have really good taste.

NetherlandsAlthough the rooms are equipped with air purifiers (Dyson), after a warm day it is very hard to cool the room. With more heat coming, an investment one day in airconditioning would really increase the level of comfort.

IsraelWe would have loved if the kitchen also had some basic cooking supplies such as cooking oil and spices (to start with), there was only salt and we had to buy a lot of groceries which we barely used. Also note that the location is in a remote neighborhood of Trier - while it is quiet and even has its own history, it takes a while to reach the city center by car or even by bus, as ongoing construction works causes severe traffic on most days.
We rented one of the offered apartments. The apartment was quite modern and very spacious, the kitchen was well-equipped and we were able to make good use of it and actually cook full meals. Very comfortable for a city stay.
