How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Location was in an industrial area, like a parking lot. More like a transit hotel.
Clean room, minimalistic bur with a huge fridge. Free parking. Self checkin.

There was a distinct bad smell in the shower. The soap was empty.

Not enough parking space in the back of the motel - those arriving late may need to park roadside in front of the motel
Good location on the route from Munich to the Neuschwanstein Castle (about 40 mins). Clean and modern room - spacious shower room. Walking distance to McDonald's and Lidl

Sometimes it is hard to dial the code on the door, the buttons are not very sensitive to the touches.
Perfect location in a quiet place but still relatively close to the highway, in a picturesque place, and just half an hour from the Neuschwanstein Castle and from the Austrian border. Easy access to the room with a code sent by e-mail. So, basically, no check in at the location is needed and you can come and go any time, even in the late evening or at night. Enough space in the room. Free parking close to the door.

But the sliding bathroom door almost looked my son in the bathroom. The tv didn't work. And when I tried to call a service hotline no one answered... Also got ripped off. 3 different people from our team booked the same room 1 adult 1child for the same dates. Over booking.com But I payed 60€ more then the others.
The room was fantastic!

Room was clean and perfect for us. The sink at the toilet did not work. We contacted the personnel twice to get it fixed but nothing happened in the hole 9 days we stayed there.

I missed some international news at the TV
Size of the room , I called to the "emergency phone" for Sunday asking for a set of towell and I was immediately attended to with excellent service.

Broken things on the furniture, missing lights, bad smell of cigarettes (smoke sensor wasn’t on the ceiling anymore). Bed sheets were damaged.
Price is the only good thing.

More attention to the bathroom clean. Far away from the center, industrial view. A few trees would be nice. The dumpster was in the middle.

Beautiful fully automated hotel in Kaufbeuren. Perfect for staying for business. The rooms have amenities (such as a small kitchen) that allow staying for multiple days. Highly reccomended.

After opening the big window in our ground floor room, we had one step to the street (recommend choosing a room on the upper floor). Not enough room in the small kitchen area (a bit complicated for cooking) Slightly harder mattress

There are no kettle, sponge for cleaning dishes. The light in the bathroom is automatic which is reacting to the movements, so a longer stay in the shower will finish in the dark... :) Booked one double bed room, but got a room with 2 single beds (or 2 separated mattress) placed next to each other, so there is a deep gap between two sides of the bed.
Many parking slots. The room is spacious with private bathroom and small kitchen, fridge. Good location for the night stay in a long trips.

Situated in the industrial area, not really clean with dust on shelves and shawarma in the fridge.
It's good for one overnight stay with self check in.
