Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).

Historic site and beautiful grounds. I was first there as a guest of a wedding party. I came back as a convenience in my travels. Both times were enjoyable.

Restaurant closed at 8pm. I believe this was a Sunday only thing.
A quiet and historic place that allows you to experience the past in a peaceful setting. Great restaurant, very interesting museum and plenty of paths in the beautiful woods for long walks.

Not far away from the bigger city but the long traffic line converts a short trip to a very slow and tedious one. The main hotel exit is problematic for cars wanting to drive towards Darmstadt, in the morning rush. Correspondingly the price is a bit too high.
Great location with great facilities and an excellent restaurant. If you see a quiet location/room you will not be disappointed. Very imposing structure. In summertime it must be fantastic in the outdoors in the garden.

I missed that the room has no A/C which would have been very welcome at the time of travel.

Our accommodation was in the annex. Quite a distance from main hotel. Restaurant was closed Room was quite small. No aircon.

A bit dark in the parking lot, and in case of rain (as it was when I arrived) walking from the car to the rooms can results rather muddy.
Travelling for a corporate event cannot hope for a better place surrounded by a forest and just a couple of km from Darmstadt centre

Nearly everything was perfect. A pool would even make it even more amazing.

We arrived on a Sunday. We were surprised to learn the bar and restaurant was closed. We managed to get a tea which was good but expensive. The breakfast was €24 a person, which is pricey.
The Location of the hotel is great. We upgraded to be in the main house which gave us a view onto the courtyard. We choose it because of its history. The room was spacious and quiet and the beds were comfortable.

The shower wasn’t private, had only a sliding partition which shielded it from the bed area but didn’t offer much privacy.
Setting was pleasant, but the hotel rooms were in a modern, separate building that felt nothing like a castle.

A bit pricey for the season, and price per dog was also a bit much, even though I am happy to pay for my dogs usually. I believe is was 20 euros per dog, per night.
Beautiful hotel. The bed was very comfortable, the pillows were very soft, but that’s down to taste I think. we travelled with our 2 medium sized dogs and we felt very welcome with them. (Spain to Denmark) The hotel is surrounded by an incredible forest where we went for a morning walk with them. Our dogs were allowed into the hotel restaurant with us. We had the breakfast buffet, which was delicious. There is also a great park and dog park nearby! would come back for sure.
