Brilliant location with lots nearby and close to transport. Friendly, kind staff, who were happy to help with any requests. And a beautiful peaceful garden.

Great experience :) The bed was surprisingly comfortable, a big "hall" - quite enough (but it depends on other guests, definitely - I was lucky), the staff were very nice also.

I would prefer the price to be a little bit lower :)

Clean and location close to subway

noise management is terrible, you can hear all the footsteps while you try to get some sleep. we tried to sleep in the morning but we couldn't because of the noise. also there could be more hangers in the room. it was closer to a hostel than a hotel but priced as much as a hotel room. so not good value for money

This place simply has the right vibes. You see the pictures, you can imagine the type of feeling it has - well, it's exactly that. You can sit out with a drink no problem or get speaking to people if you want/are travelling. We had a room, it was great and stayed remarkably cool given it hit 37 degrees one day. Just open the window at night, close it in the day and the large old building will take care of the rest. The room is exceptional value and very clean. Take a short walk north and you hit the canal with plenty of places to eat and drink nearby.

Amazing location, really nice staff, super generously sized, bright and nice room with a view to a leafy courtyard. In particular it was also great that there were tea and coffee facilities in the room (including long life milk!) which were replenished each day.

No aircon or fan so worth noting that it can be pretty warm overnight if it's hot (it was over 30 when we were there). As a suggestion for improvement, it might be good to install ceiling fans or at least have sheets to sleep under (instead of heavy doona / blanket).

This was so cute! The beds were huge! (King beds) and very comfortable. The shared bathrooms were exceptionally clean and there was sufficient facilities provided (soap, body wash, toilet paper etc). The court yard with multiple couches, seating, tables etc was great and very well utilised! It was a great stay for a few nights, or a stopover and the hosts were so friendly and accomodating.

The location was quite intimidating. We didn’t want to go out at night based on what we saw during the day. It seemed to be quite a low demographic area a bit scary. As a woman, I wouldn’t stay in this area alone, however within the accomodation, I never felt unsafe or heard anything outside. Only one toilet for the women’s bathroom and if you are in the shower area and someone leaves the doors open, it’s a straight shot to the women’s shower from the entry door.

Hüttenpalast is a wonderful place, run by wonderful people! We had one of the loft rooms, which was spacious, airy, and beautifully designed - simplicity and elegance rather than chintz and velour! Very clean and everything worked perfectly, palatial wet room, and even an espresso machine. The main body of the hotel is of course the ‘Hüttenpalast ‚ a large hall with different vintage caravans and a couple of huts, all vintage chic and cosy sleeping arrangements, surrounded by plants and various benches, French doors opening to the garden where guest can sit whenever the weather allows. We chose the loft rooms, because we wanted a private bathroom. The ‘huts’ and caravans share a couple of bathrooms. We did hanker after staying in one of them next time, though, they looked so cosy and charming! Breakfast is a feast! Overnight oats with many different toppings, organic yogurt , fabulous sourdough bread, jams, Nutella, salami, cheeses, fruits, juices, freshly brewed coffee and loose leaf tea! Even a waffle maker with little jars of ready made batter for making your own waffle! Staff can’t do enough for you, offering more of anything, cheerful, friendly, and chatty - but only if you want to. No empty servility here, just people doing their job with love and care. The complex Hüttenpalast is in comprises artist’s studios and ordinary flats, so although reception is only open until 6 pm, it feels very safe, because people live around you. They will make arrangements if you arrive later, and you get keys once you are there. The area is very multicultural and young, a proper, lived-in quarter. Lots and lots of different restaurants, take-aways , with food from all over the world and in any budget, small shops, and late-night kiosks. My daughter and I both felt safe walking around, and the public transport options are fab, clean, frequent, on time, and cheap!

Better pillows! They were a bit flat and bumpy.

The concept is amazing! Location is super easy too (easy access to bars, food, public transport) The communication with the staff was flawless, and they were very helpful and flexible to assist you.

I just wish they had some sink or fridge in the communal area, but this one, the cafe of the hotel was super helpful to allow us store our cheese for a bit. The main problem will be the floor, it makes noises no matter how lightly one walks on it. Light sleeper should have earplugs handy, maybe play some white noise in the cabin to help reduce the impact.

I loved staying at this special place! The owner(s) waited for me even though I did not expect this and was ready for a quick staff check-in. Throughout my stay, everyone was super friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and made for any taste or need ;) Simply loved this little home gem for travellers in the middle of wild Berlin!
