Hotel was rather "tired" and could do with decorating. Parking was available behind the hotel but only 2 spaces and parking in the street outside was difficult.

Location was good and room more than adequate without being perfect.

In this hotel You feel like 30 years back in time. It did’n bother us. In fact we felt is charming too. Watch out, this hotel is not located in Rudesheim am Rhein, but in a neighboring town which was also nice

Cleanliness, family hotel, it is an authentic german place and good condition of interieur. Great German Breakfast was served by the owner.

Only problem we had wS our room was on the 3rd floor, and without a lift made it difficult for a person with mobility problems.

Our en-suite room was very nice. Breakfast was more than ample with good alternatives

The floor boards in the bedroom were extremely creaky and I was concerned about disturbing other guests when moving around. Trains pass by very close to rear of hotel all through the night which makes sleeping difficult. Small hotel and closed very early at night so could not get a drink or coffee/tea after 9pm

The location is fantastic, right by river Rhine. Lovely outdoor terrace. Fabulous views of local castles and vineyards. Breakfast was good, though I would have liked more fruit and less meat.

We should of rang hotel directly , totally over booking .com. our complaint online was completely ignored. Free cancellation?????.

Stephan did a great breakfast, considering all our other Booking. Com hotels were very expensive with no breakfast. We booked a hotel in Frankfurt but couldn't make it due to rail problem. Had free cancellation, but were fobbed off by booking.com and received nothing.

The restaurant closes at 5pm so far too early, but there are restaurants within walking distance. There isn't any air conditioning and it was very hot during our visit, so be prepared for this during the summer.

Nice hotel overlooking the Rhine. A good breakfast.

A little bit old-fashioned, furniture could certainly use an update.

Good value for the money. And I really like the location in Assmanshausen as a base for exploring the Rhineland by boat or train. Beds were surprisingly comfy, and breakfast decent. I great option if you are looking to save some money.

A CRAZY hotel experience, but Rheinstein Castle across the river was amazing and a must see!

Under new management. I was told several times that they had only taken ownership of the property 5 days before we arrived. So things were hectic... Upon arrival there was no check-in desk or place to get your key. They were under construction with workers everywhere. We felt like they were not ready for business or that we were disturbing them. The decor needs a total revamp, and is very 1960s. Maybe that's why all of the construction is happening. The new manager was present when we arrived and initially seemed helpful and friendly. Our first night was ok and after a lovely breakfast we left for a day of sight seeing and intended to stay another night. When I returned I received quite a shock! I had come back alone in the evening to my room which would not unlock with the key provided and I thought I could hear there was someone in my room! The person wasn't responding when I knocked which scared me even more. I looked through the keyhole and saw a man sitting on the end of my bed and was really freaked out! The manager was no where to be found. His young son was there and tried to explain, but then he just left, disappeared and left the building. It was the craziest experience I've ever had at a hotel. They did not tell us and just packed all of our things, touched everything I owned, loosely threw in my suitcases and moved it all to another room because they apparently had double booked my room! It made no sense what-so-ever. They could have just put the new arrival in the other room. Absolutely unacceptable for them to rent the room to me and then move all of my stuff with out asking. Unless there was some disaster inside the room like a pipe bursting or something I would never ever expect any hotel staff to go touch any of my belongings. I did not stay the 2nd night after that. I decided to leave because I was so uncomfortable and upset after what they did.

The breakfast was excellent and the cook was the best part of the stay. He was also staying in the hotel and was helpful when no one else was.

More information on ferries, transportation and sites in the area.

Breakfast was awesome as well as location. It was close to the train station which was great. It would have been nice to know more info on ferries and seeing the castles in the area. It was difficult to get ubers and across the river and had to figure it out ourselves. It would have been nice for owners of hotel to give more info on this. Kind owners and good food there.

If I'm being critical the room was a little "tired" and the sinks were actually in the room which is a little unusual. I don't think there was a lift so luggage was carried up the stairs. None of these things were any problem but could be to some guests.

great location, right next to the Rhine. Breakfast was very good amongst the best we had all holiday. The host was very friendly and took time out to settle us in, we arrived on motorbikes. The room was a fair size and comfortable, with a separate bathroom. Good value considering the location.

We accidentally made a double booking, which is our own fault of course, but the host could have been more accommodating: we now paid for two rooms. After we left, the host called us accusing us of taking the room key (which we hadn't, of course), telling us to come back to return the key and how he would be sending us the bill for the lock replacement.

I didn't like that it was so far from Rudersheim which I had wanted to get a hotel at.

The breakfast was a typical German food along with a hard-boiled egg. We were in a hurry and couldn't stay for breakfast. Everything tasted good and it was included in the reservation. The location of the Hotel was close to the boat piers for a day trip or just a few hours.

Everything was great. Only thing is that there is not much around this location. However, train station is directly nearby and with ferry it just takes ~20 min to Bingen

The hotel was a little dated but clean and comfortable. Check in was a bit early, as a tourist you probably wouldn't make 6pm.

It was right on the river Rhine, nice view for breakfast to watch the boats going up and down the river. There was a lovely pub just down the road. The proprietor called and said where we would find the key.
