Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

I liked the employee, they were very helpful. There is a very good and equipped kitchen like every good hostel. They created maps and walking tour guides for free which helps you a lot while travelling around.

United StatesBiggest problem (not the hostel's fault): The bar down the street sometimes played pretty bass-y music (thump, thump, thump), so if you're sensitive to that, be warned. I wish the showers had any sort of private nook to dress in/hang your things on, but I went when it wasn't busy, so it was okay.
The location was good, the common areas were cute and cozy and encouraged socializing (though they were a bit small) The beds frames were firm (so no squeaking, no shaking your upstairs or downstairs neighbor). The beds were pretty comfortable and had tiny shelves, lights, sockets, and curtains. The upper bunks had good ladder-stairs. There were lockers. The upstairs was also decorated very nicely--great atmosphere. The bathrooms and showers were pretty clean. There were events like group tours, free dinners on Sundays, etc. A really nice place.

GermanyStreets are noisy at night because of the great location, so earplugs are necessary if you’re a sensitive sleeper. Bring your physical passport with you, as they require it.
Personal was great. The receptionist I talked to has a great sense of humor and was very kind. They organize many events and give tips to explore the city, plus offer lots of additional services. The location is amazing, right in the liveliest district at night. Because of that, it can be a bit noisy. Tip: bring earplugs (I think you can also buy them at the hostel). But overall I enjoyed staying there.

LithuaniaThe large table / bed was consuming a lot of space and as i have said earlier, we always had to bend to get to the couch. In order to get to the room we had to climb very steep stairs and there was a lot of them.
Room was very interesting, but the table / bed thing was too near the sofa and we always had to bend a little bit to get to the couch. Location was perfect, lots of bar and restaurants near.

Poland- We liked absolutely everything
The hostel was absolutely amazing! The girl at the reception greeted us with a smile, was very cheerful and friendly, and told us in detail about the best routes to the city center. Instead of a regular room, we were given a whole wonderful apartment in a neighboring building — with a fully equipped kitchen and free parking included in the price. It was an unexpected and very pleasant surprise

GermanyIt's a hostel in a typical hostel neighborhood. If you're sensible to loud noises, bring earplugs.
Everything is exactly as you would expect and hope a hostel to be, including the usual "downsides". Great and helpful staff, well cared for and nicely decorated facilities (on the level that is to be expected in an older building) and also the little extra that makes a stay more memorable. Really liked the freely available books and games and the shared kitchen (which after covid some hostels divested themselves of). The breakfast is solid (even vegans are very well cared for) and well worth it. Would definitely recommend to stay here while in Dresden.

GermanyThe personnel were friendly. Although the washing machines were full for the day, they showed me a Laundromat nearby. Also it feels like at home in your room, very cozy. They have a locker in the room to keep your valuable stuff safe.

PolandI loved the staff and their friendly and open attitude:) Not only did they take care of the hostel when it comes to cleaning and managerial duties but they were open and eager to chat with guests. In the lobby there were hundreds of fliers or leaflets informing about local events, trips and the like

Poland- It's worth bringing earplugs with you. Neustadt is a district where life goes on until late at night. - One shared toilet for 3 multi-bedded rooms isn't enough. I was informed that I could go down to the first floor, but this isn't a comfortable solution. - Thin mattress - I felt the boards from the bed.
- Hippie-style hostel. - The staff is friendly and helpful. - Great streetcar access from Dresden Hauptbahnhof. - The kitchen is equipped with basic things. You can also pay for breakfast at the hostel. - There're plenty of restaurants in the area - you can choose something affordable when you don't want to cook. - Grocery stores are also close. - At the hostel you can have your clothes washed for payment (there's also a self-service laundromat close by if you need clothes for now). - There are lockers that can be locked with a padlock (if you don't have a padlock, you can rent one for a charge). - You can choose the bed in the room yourself (if there are plenty of spare beds).

SwitzerlandThe hostel is in a very vibrant part of the city, with an active nightlife, so it can get a bit loud in the room until late hours.
The staff were really friendly and keen to help. There are maps with information on many tours you can take through the old and new city, and even hiking trails in the region. Although the pictures on the website are a bit "overproduced" and not very representative of what the rooms actually look like, they were by no means ugly and uncomfortable, quite the contrary. Overall, for the price you pay is a great deal! If I ever come back to Dresden, I would probably stay there again.
