Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNo major issues. Just beware that there is not on-site parking and you have to park outside of the city walls.
We really loved this hotel, it was one of our favourites during our recent Europe trip. Great room with a view to the wall. Lovely staff and the meal that we had in the restaurant was great!

The hotel's inside the ancient walls of Dinkelsbuhl, was wonderful and within easy walking distance of all the sites. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The private indoor parking garage was especially appreciated as parking inside the town is and close to our hotel is at a premium. My room was spacious and comfortable. Nice large bathroom and plenty of hot water! Very friendly service throughout our stay at this family run hotel. Will stay here again...

United KingdomNot our first visit to this hotel, and we even stayed in the same room. We would recommend it for a stay in Dinkelsbühl. The room had a fabulous shower, comfy bed and a period charm. There is no lift so not ideal if you struggle with stairs. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice. Dinner is available at the hotel and is presented in an intimate dining room setting with priority bookings for hotel guests. Parking within the town walls is on a limited time meter. For 10 Euros we put our car in the hotel's garage overnight. It is possible to park for free some distance away.

United StatesNothing. We loved everything about this charming hotel.
Super charming and inside the walls of Dinkelsbuhl. The owners and staff are upbeat and friendly. This hotel reflects the traditional character of the town. We loved our stay here. The food was delicious, and we ate dinner here as well. The rooms are spotless, comfortable, and lovely. Free parking is only a 5 minute walk away. I highly recommend this place!

United KingdomNothing not to like for us. Many of the buildings are old and unsurprisingly there is no lift which may be an issue for some.
Location was good (within the town walls). We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and this was good with plenty of choice. We had the option of garage parking. Having been to Dinkelsbühl before we knew this was essential.

United StatesI was told no parking available when I booked. However when I checked in parking was available for 10 euros per day. I parked at a free parking spot instead. But it was still a ways to walk and I had recent hip replacement surgery. I was not too happy about that.
It was a typical German building which I liked; also the price was reasonable.

Very good small hotel, very queiet, in the old town area, near to all the attractions of the town center. No problem with parking. Exceptional hospitality. We have just mentioned about gluten-free diet of my wife and the next day at breakfast we have found gluten-free bread especially for her. The hotel is very well organized and very clean. Nice room with Bavarian-style furniture. This was our best accomodation choice during our travel through Germany to Switzerland.

United KingdomIt is strange coming from abroad that a hotel is closing after breakfast, having to holde on to your key to gain access to your room via the back entrance The proprietor does not make an appearance until 17.00 when the restaurant fills up for dinner. It is obviously very popular with the locals.
Perfect breakfast times, except for early departures. Very friendly and helpful staff during breakfast time. Good choice for breakfast. Room spacious with pleasant furnishings - and bathroom up to date with modern shower tray

United StatesBeds weren’t the best and breakfast was just ok. nothing great. The bathroom had a pretty big step in it which terrified me that one of us would trip in the night but we left the light on and it was ok. The restaurant also had mixed reviews from us-two were ok meals, two were great, one was awful! Lots of smokers hanging out at the entrance.
Great location and friendly staff.
