The passage to my friend's room behind the main building was very dark. Would be nice to have a some light out there. One of the blankets in my room had a weird stain, but I don't think it was for lack of cleaning, as everything was very neat and tidy.

Super friendly and helpful staff. They stayed up late for us because we ran late on our way there. Huge room for the price and it's right by many of the hiking trails.

You have to walk through the outdoor restaurant dining area to get to your room. Our balcony was over the outdoor seating area and was too noisy.

We came a bit early and wanted to drop off our bags. Checkin was only at 15:00 and we needed to return to the garmisch bahnhof to use the luggage lockers.

Seems a lot dated, dark. Most important thing is that staff or owners should pay much more attention to room cleaning. The photos of room “Akelei”did not match the reality. In photos seem to be more modern room and the got old fashioned, different that photos. Hotel in a good place, view to Zugspitze mountain but we would never come back to this hotel. The price is too big for room, it would be ok for a little more nicer, cleaner room.

Nice staff. Waiter at the restaurant was very helpful he even written menu in English by hand for not German guests.

Walls was a bit thin so you could hear everything from neighbors. During summer breakfast could start 1 hour earlier in case you need go for longer hike in mountains (if you need it earlier - ask manager so maybe you will have some extra 1/2 hour).

Very nice owners and very good food/breakfast. Test their pork knuckle with crunchy skin and juicy meet inside! Room was big enough. Beautiful view from nice balcony. Enough with parking space. Comfortable bed. Clean room.

I think the breakfast was a little expensive and should be included with the room or at least be cheaper. The staff was not available for check in or check out. Wifi was terrible and kept disconnecting.

One of my memorable stays I had on my trips. The balcony with the mountain view is super! Room is clean and very tidy, coffee and teas are available in the room and beds are really comfy with an extra blanket. The owners are very nice and welcoming. They also owned the restaurant downstairs and we really loved all the food that we had there. Super close to the train station like just 2-3 mins walk, and the bus stop going to Eibsee is just right in-front of the hotel so it’s very convenient. The area is very quiet, despite the restaurant being downstairs, we had 3 quiet nights and amazing sleep. Overall I enjoyed my whole stay in Gungl Stubn and would really love to go back! 😁

One of the best stays I've ever had! 🌟 I stayed in Grainau for a short trip and honestly, this hotel exceeded all my expectations! The staff were absolutely amazing — so kind, helpful, and genuinely trying to make sure I was comfortable. They went above and beyond to assist me whenever they could. The view from my room was breathtaking — straight onto the mountains, a real dream! The location is perfect, just next to a bus stop, which made getting around super easy. The room was spotless, very clean and cozy. I also loved that they provided a coffee machine, kettle, and tea in the room for free — a small detail, but made a big difference.

We only saw the staff when we checked in. It seems to primarily be a restaurant that also rents a few rooms. Nobody was there when we left at 8:30am so just left keys in room. Instructions would have been helpful. Also, location is somewhat remote so best if travelling by car (we travelled by train).

Very small No servicing, cleaning or replenishing. We had to ask for everything that we needed. Noone even takes out the garbage from the room or clean them, or refurbish anything. We had to take out the garbage everyday and hand it over. Not for stay with children. Okay for a couple may be for a night or two. No lift and not accessibiliy for disabled people. You have to take your own luggage up the stairs to the restaurant, and then up again through spiral stairs to the room. The size of the bathroom is less than a pet shelter. Soap dispenser in the shower empty, not filled. Shower hose leaks from every angle No hook in the bathroom to keep away clothes They advertise as mountain view rooms, however, in summer when all the trees have greenery (which is beautiful to look at), there is no view from the rooms. Its a booking.com problem too that they mention this as a hotel. Its an apartment at best, and even then it is gracious to be called an apartment. Its kind of a nest. Very unprofessional, no maintenance.

Public transport bus and train just outside the property. The restaurant is top class with very good food. That is all that is good.

A beautiful family-owned hotel and restaurant is situated on a tiny berg - right on the bus and train routes. We had easy access to walking trails and bike routes.
