We have as a 2 parties with 3 booked rooms together. When we arrived together reception mixed up the rooms, and they gave the best room to the wrong person in our group.

Spa/pool area very nice. Overall building is magnificient. My Kids loved staying in a castle. Very special. Library is wonderful as well.

Needs small enhancements when it comes to technology like USB extension better coverage of Wifi I do understand Althoff owners point of view as its a place of ZEN

The Salvador Dali manager was super helpful was smiling supportive he served food at a time most kitchens were closed. I cant thank him enough. The serenity of the place the village beside it the cleanliness of the place considering its massive size. The breakfast team is amazing

- Most of the staff members were very kind and helpful, but one woman in the reception didn't want to lift a finger unless you specifically asked. I got food sent to my room with no cutlery for example - When we arrived, the trash can hadn't been emptied, not a big deal but it did make me worry if they had cut corners with the cleaning overall - Personally, I found the hot tub to be quite cold

- The hotel is absolutely beautiful, the building itself and the decor is lovely - Breakfast is very good, has a lot of variety and the staff members are very kind and attentive

Wifi was terrible, the staff tried to fix but it was still terribly slow for a 5 star location.

Stunning location and grounds, 2nd time I have stayed here when working in Cologne. If you wanted somewhere secluded and peaceful to get away from the noise of Cologne centre then I don't think you will find better. Small high street just outside with nice food places and other amenities.

The classic cheese and charcuterie served during breakfast were disappointing. The restaurant Salvadore Dali Bar was underwhelming and didn't met expectations according to the price. My biggest issue was that the bouquet of flowers that I ordered many days before arrival wasn't delivered as scheduled. I even had to recall it to reception in order to offer it to my wife.

We loved the hotel as it was beautiful and offered many services. Restaurants were nice, especially la Trattoria Enoteca. Room service with breakfast was good.

If you are doing a Cologne city break it is far away. But great transport direct to the city. It was nice to see the suburbs and wider Germany as part of the trip if that’s your thing.

The most luxurious experience we could have asked for. An amazing free spa and great level of service.

We had some issues with the room (heating was off, then too strong) that took us several calls and/or visit to the counter to resolve. Nothing too bad, but a bit unfortunate to deal with that over a short weekend visit.

Our dinners at the Dali bar/restaurant were particularly enjoyable! Nice food/drinks, great service, pleasant mood and very nice live music. All the restaurants on side are great (we tried them over few visits) but the Dali quickly became our go-to for a relaxed evening. The spa is of course excellent, and we just love wandering around the hotel (treat yourself with a night visit of the library!).

The matrass was very hard, amenities in the room could be more extended, and we missed a separate shower, instead of included in the slippery bath tub.

Breakfast, expensive but superb. Piano music in the lobby at afternoon tea in a very relaxed atmosphere.

The chicken in the salad at Salvador Dali had a very bad taste (simply boiled, maybe not even seasoned). But the meat seemed to be there for 3 days. The pool and the spa area are nice, but very small compared to the size of the whole chateau. Not proportional. Not much to do around unless the weather is nice. The jacuzzi was not hot / the next day was mentioned as out of order. The massage is overpriced.
