The room got pretty hot and had no ventilation. It would be great to invest in a fan if a ventilation system isn’t planned. The doors are old, and the locking system and door slamming are noisy, so other guests coming and going can be quite disturbing.

Good value in a great central location. Breakfast was fine. Overall, a fair choice for the price.

Well, I don't think it's possible to have a kettle in such a room, so we bought coffee during the day instead of filling a flask before going out, so actually that's not a problem. The tourist tax in Freiburg city does not include free local transport, so tourists must buy tram tickets using machines on the tram, although it's easy to walk in Freiburg and the trams are not expensive.

Outstanding location on edge of Old Town very close to the paths up the viewing tower. Room on top floor was quiet enough - window open one hears the ambience of a car-free cobbled street and distant chiming of clock and church bells which we love. The inn has genuine character, a charming experience that feels very German. We enjoyed a typically German meal in the restaurant on the evening of our arrival. We arrived by train with a very easy tram ride to a stop by the city gate 160 metres away.

Rooms were very outdated and were probably never updated since the 70s. But they were functional, so ok.. The thing we didn't like the most is that it felt more like a hostel with the shared bathroom situation, and the walls are very thin!! We woke up at 4am just because our neighbour guests turned on their water tap in the room and were talking 🤷‍♀️ Then woke up again as they started blowing leaves outside at 7am...

Absolutely perfect location. Super friendly staff. I arrived much earlier than check-in time and they gave me the room anyway. Although the toilet was outside the room (as explained), I was pleasantly surprised to find the room had a private shower.

The only challenge were the high and narrow staircases as we had slightly large suitcases. But it's an old building and that's just a small price to pay for an overall good experience.

It's a lovely, old style hotel in city centre. The staff is extremely helpful and warm. We loved our room and the other facilities included such as breakfast. It has a nostalgic appeal for the old-fashioned, with attentive staff but also enough privacy.

I arrived there around 12:00 pm and i told the lady that i would live to have a lunch. The hotel restaurant is opens to the public. I told her i want a table for 1 and she said only in 30 min . And people was coming from outside and she accommodate them. For me wS disrespectful. They should give priority for the guest not for people outside.

Great location, very close to the cathedral and Munstermarkt, and only 1 km walk from railway station. Nice old building. Comfy and very quiet room on the top floor. Superb breakfast included in the price. Friendly and helpful staff, no problem for storing my luggage on an early arrival and on the departure day.

The shower in the bath was difficult to use without sitting down due to lack of space, but was fine!

The hotel is in a great location in the old town and was very close to everything. It was easy to park nearby in a public car park and the breakfast each morning was quite good. We stayed in the attic which meant lugging bags up steep stairs for four floors but it was a great old building with character. was very quiet and beds very comfortable.

They don't provide a hair dryer and there are no complementary soaps/shampoos. There is nowhere, i.e. a shelf in the shower stall to place your own soap/shampoo.

The breakfast was simple but sufficient. It is right in the Altstadt.

Only slight gripes come with the lack of air con in the heat and the vpkume of the city itself.
