Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere is a width restriction on the bridge near the hotel so we had to drive our van on a 20km detour to approach the hotel from a different direction. Not the hotels fault, so does not effect how I feel about our lovely stay. I would have given 10/10 if the hotel had aircon.
Stunning building. Fantastic breakfast. Lovely staff (especially the waiter at breakfast)

Charming accommodation in a beautiful setting. Good breakfast selection, including glutenfree and lactofree options. Rooms supplied with fans quiet enough to be left on at night. Plentiful parking. Town with restaurants within easy walking distance.

SwitzerlandI don't need an elevator, but it can be problematic for people with disabilities. The only small elevator is used for transporting luggage.
The room was spacious, clean, and with a nice view of the river. The large breakfast room is a beautiful place to enjoy their excellent breakfast. The property features many lovely places indoor and outdoor to relax. Great proximity to the Villeroy & Boch museum and outlets.

RomaniaWe have chosen the hotel for a one night stay in the city of Villeroy & Boch. The castle is romantic, charming with great surroundings. We loved our room. Even if it was hot, the room was equipped with a classic ventilator that helped us circulate the air. The bathroom looked amazing (not the one with bathtub), quality materials and very clean. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was very good.

United KingdomNo air conditioning but we knew this when we booked.
This hotel is stunning and in keeping with the spirit of the building. The bedroom was spacious, clean with a large comfortable bed. Breakfast offered a varied selection and beautifully laid out with Villeroy and Boch tableware.

United KingdomWe loved it suited us to the group, opulence and grandeur of an old historic building, but so relaxed and welcoming. The room and en-suite were spacious, the set out was quirky but what do you expect when putting modern things in an old building. There is no lift for ‘people’ but a small one for your bags. There was no air con in the room (but we knew that when we booked it) and there happed to be a a heatwave, so it was a ‘tad’ warm overnight, we had the window open for some air and ended up chasing bats out the room each night 😵💫, something to remember the place by. The breakfast was plentiful and there was an endless supply of coffee. We had the evening meal on the first night and can say the quality was great. Overall it’s not cheap, but I think the price is set right for the quality and experience of the historic grader. And the dog came too …….. he was made welcome and the grounds were excellent for a walk around early morning before the heat set in. We had our meals outside and he sat under the table. As it’s wooden floors he did do a bit of skating round but nothing more than he does at home, however a dog not used to it may be a bit spooked.

United StatesNo elevator except a tiny one for baggage only. Totally not accessible for disabled people. Not enough receptacles in the room for using or recharging electric devices. Plumbing backed up and drained slowly. Only a single set meal in the restaurant at dinner.
Check in was smooth and efficient and friendly. The hotel has wonderful early 20th century building features and interior decor, as long as you like Villeroy and Boch design. (The company owns the hotel.) Rooms are large and furnished with period style. No room numbers: each room is named after a Villeroy and Boch porcelain dish pattern. The hotel is set in a large park with expansive lawns, trees, even water ponds and fountains. And plenty of free parking.

United StatesThe bedrooms and bed linens do not quite match what the ensuite bathrooms' level of comfort and shine bring to the stay.
The location is stunning, the breakfast service and settings are breathtaking, the bathroom facilities in the suites are sparkling and very up-to-date. The beautiful wood floors are creaky and that's actually delightful. The main areas of dining are wonderfully bright and the marble throughout lends to the stateliness of the schloss.

CanadaFantastic environment. Old construction but well maintained. Good balance between old and new. Room was large (we had the deluxe version ) and very clean. Nice and spacious bathroom, with Villeroy & Boch equipment. Of course. Breakfast was very generous and provided many options. Breakfast rooms (yes, more than one) were superbly decorated and featured V&B plates, cups, etc. Definitely classy. Staff was impeccable, helpful, and spoke other languages besides German. For us, the price point was higher than most of our other nights, however we fully appreciated every moment we spent there. Highly recommended. Memorable. Thank you!
