The host was very nice and very helpful. She was assisting us at very late arrival and other needs, e.g. finding a local doctor. The view from the breakfast room to the Neuschwanstein castle is outstanding.

The room was very clean and functional, but slightly old-fashioned fittings (wash basin in the room instead of the bath room), no TV in the room.

The location, room was very nice, off main streets so was quiet!!

Shower is small, but topical for Germany

Fabulous location near the castle, great breakfast, comfortable bed, quiet and excellent value for money. Short walk to restaurants and a beautiful lake which made for a lovely early evening walk.

Wifi didn't work in our room - signal strength was so low it was unusable.

Very dated & basic, old style en-suite (green) 2 night stay & only 2 sachets of body wash for 2 people!!

The position is perfect to visit the castles, with the plus of the included parking. . Nice breakfast. The double room with balcony viewing the castle was an incredible plus.

The twin room was particularly small, with basic facilities (beds, bathroom, towels)

The view of the castle was amazing!

1) there was no elevator, and there was no one to help with bags except for the manager, who was a woman, and she carded our luggage up two sets of stairs. 2) the manager spoke broken English, it was difficult to convey what we needed. 3) there was no one there after 6 PM and we did not know that. There was no hot water maker in our room. There was no way to get any beverages or food. 4) we needed to arrange for a taxi in the morning. There was a number on the door and we called it, but we got no help. We walked up to another hotel that did have staff available and they were gracious enough to arrange for a taxi for us in the morning. 5) there was no space in the shower to set any toiletries as that little shelf was broken. There was no shampoo or lotion. There was a tiny bar of soap.

The proximity to the castles was great. The staff was also very kind.

Not that I didn’t like per se, just didn’t love the soft bed. Was a bit hard to sleep on.

Fairly basic though absolutely nothing wrong. Everywhere near Neuschwanstein is extremely expensive - this is less so than other properties.

The customer service was EXCELLENT from beginning to end. Chef's kiss to the dinner that was made for us. The food was fantastic and I truly learned what Austrian hospitality is like. Our check-in and checkouts were easy. The whole place is wonderful, it is at the same time nostalgic, modern, clean, friendly and inviting. We felt at home here.

I only disliked that we stayed for one night. I disliked that I couldn't enjoy a drink with the chef, which would have been awesome because he is such a cool guy! I disliked that my time in Austria was too short to enjoy the fantastic natural life around this wonderful hotel.

absolutely charming old hotel. Helpful advice from reception by telephone when we struggled to gain access, easily sorted out. Very old building with a lot of charm and a few creaky bits. Stunning view of the castle and gardens to the side. good parking.

A really nice simple, no fuss hotel. The location was great, within walking distance to everything you want. The room was clean and nice.

The bathroom felt a little old and outdated but perfectly functional.

No Internet access from our room despite Wi-Fi being advertised. We stayed 5 days in the hotel and every morning we would be asked in which room we were staying in.

Very friendly staff and so close to the castles and Alpsee which is stunningly beautiful. The night was quiet and we slept well. Great breakfast.

The location was perfect for enjoying everything at Hohenschwangau. The breakfast was basic German breakfast, featuring wurst, which is not healthy. They tasted good, though. Fortunately I like German style coffee, though some do not.

I did not like the fact that no one was there to receive me when I arrived in the afternoon. They emailed me with a code for a key lockbox. I managed to find it, opened it, EMPTY. There I waited, tired and forlorn, until I finally attracted someone's attention, and they brought me a key. The guy was surly, no greeting, no information. However, when I had to check out early, the nice lady let me have breakfast, 15 minutes early. Such indulgence is rare in Germany, which glories in strict rules and a Puenktluchkeit.

Very good location, cosy rooms

this place is not only real close to the local attractions but the smilling and dynamic host makes it a wonderfull place to stay. Breakfast was nice. The lake is at a walking distance and we enjoyed a late afternoon bath after visiting the castle. Don't miss visiting fussen also.
