The room was very clean and functional, but slightly old-fashioned fittings (wash basin in the room instead of the bath room), no TV in the room.

The host was very nice and very helpful. She was assisting us at very late arrival and other needs, e.g. finding a local doctor. The view from the breakfast room to the Neuschwanstein castle is outstanding.

The position is perfect to visit the castles, with the plus of the included parking. . Nice breakfast. The double room with balcony viewing the castle was an incredible plus.

Fairly basic though absolutely nothing wrong. Everywhere near Neuschwanstein is extremely expensive - this is less so than other properties.

absolutely charming old hotel. Helpful advice from reception by telephone when we struggled to gain access, easily sorted out. Very old building with a lot of charm and a few creaky bits. Stunning view of the castle and gardens to the side. good parking.

No Internet access from our room despite Wi-Fi being advertised. We stayed 5 days in the hotel and every morning we would be asked in which room we were staying in.

Great value, amazing location. Staff tried to fix it but never followed up if the problem was solved.

I did not like the fact that no one was there to receive me when I arrived in the afternoon. They emailed me with a code for a key lockbox. I managed to find it, opened it, EMPTY. There I waited, tired and forlorn, until I finally attracted someone's attention, and they brought me a key. The guy was surly, no greeting, no information. However, when I had to check out early, the nice lady let me have breakfast, 15 minutes early. Such indulgence is rare in Germany, which glories in strict rules and a Puenktluchkeit.

The location was perfect for enjoying everything at Hohenschwangau. The breakfast was basic German breakfast, featuring wurst, which is not healthy. They tasted good, though. Fortunately I like German style coffee, though some do not.

this place is not only real close to the local attractions but the smilling and dynamic host makes it a wonderfull place to stay. Breakfast was nice. The lake is at a walking distance and we enjoyed a late afternoon bath after visiting the castle. Don't miss visiting fussen also.

This hotel is old, looked old and smelt old. Could do with some renovations.

The bed was the redeeming quality for this stay. First comfortable mattress after 3 weeks in Europe! The location was great for jumping on the shuttle to see the castle (make sure to have cash for the shuttle) and the parking in front of the hotel was easy. We ate at a restaurant just down end of the street which had delicious soup at affordable prices, try the Alpenstuben restaurant - seemed like the only thing open for dinner but we really liked it. Staff were welcoming even though we only ordered the soup! View from bedroom window ( if you leaned out it) at night with the castle lit up was cool.

The staff was efficient, but didn't expend much energy on pleasantries. The room was uncomfortably warm, sometimes hot. There was no AC, which is okay, but the hotel should provide a cooling fan. The breakfast was adequate, but choices were limited. Sometimes, even early in the breakfast, items would run out and not be replenished. Then the breakfast becomes sparse.

The location was great. The proprietress was pleasant and friendly. The room and other facilities were clean and adequately comfortable, if not luxurious.

The room was extremely hot. No fans supplied. It was June 21st. It's very basic and a bit dated. The walls were quite thin. You can here next door flush their toilets, etc, but not too bad. Again, you get what you pay for, and this hotel is more about location than luxury. There is no staff on site only at breakfast time.

The location was great. Walking distance to both castles and the lake. We went swimming and it was about a 5 minute walk back to the hotel for shower. Parking 5 euro a day. Good shower. Breakfast was OK, very basic but ok . Bread rolls, ham, cheese, boiled eggs, jam, 2 cereals, and fruit juice. Friendly staff.

We’re vegan…there was no plant milk for our coffee and cereal. But the breads and jams were excellent.

Some type of fan would have been good. The room was warm, and we tried to leave the window open. We don't smoke. The problem was that the cigarette smoke would consistently come into our room.
