Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The style and character-historic and cozy yet with updated with beautiful colors and furnishings in the room, location, cleanliness but most of all the owner who personally took care of us. She was so friendly and kind and made sure we were happy and comfortable. She gave us lots of recommendations and ideas for seeing Nuremburg. We will definitely be back next time in Nuremburg. Highly recommend.

GreeceEverything. Excellent location, very close to the metro station and to center. Stuff is very kind and helpful ( gives you a map and all the necessary information about the city ). Room was very clean, fully equipped ( coffee machine, hair dryer, amenities, etc ). It has also air-condition which is rare in Germany i think ( we need it because when we visited Nuremberg it was really hot ). Very close to the hotel has a restaurant with excellent traditional Franconian sausages.. Highly recommended.

United StatesNot even a big deal but it is about a 15 minute walk from the train station which was a little hard for me because I was carrying a very heavy travel backpack. But I would have walked longer for this hotel honestly.
The hotel is run by a mother and son which I think is so lovely. The son runs the front desk and welcomed me so kindly even though I was drenched in sweat from walking to the hotel from the main train station. He showed me a map of Nuremberg and took the time to point out all of the places I should see. Not only was he great, but the room itself was AMAZING! I stayed in several hotels during my trip to Germany and this was the ONLY one with AC. The room was massive and so comfortable especially for the price! Fun side note: after I got back to the hotel from a day of exploring, he asked me if I visited the Beautiful Fountain and spun the ring for good luck, and after saying yes, he gave me an adorable little key chain with a gold ring on it. It was so sweet. If I’m ever in Nuremberg again, I will not stay anywhere else besides Franconia City Hotel. It is also in a perfect location.

United KingdomThere was no lift and I was in the top floor, however the stairs weren’t steep so not too much of an issue.
The room was great for a solo traveller, lots of space. The staff were amazing, so helpful and couldn’t do enough for you (from marking out a sightseeing route to providing me with plasters for a blister). Great location aswell.

United StatesNot a complaint just a fact: the hotel does not have an elevator, which was OK for us as this was the beginning of our travels around Germany and we hadn't loaded our luggage with souvenirs. It could be an issue for folks with mobility issues.
The Franconia City Hotel was ideally located in Nurnberg. We just walked right out of the train station and walked about 13 minutes to the hotel. It was mostly level walk, with sidewalk all along the beautiful city walls. At check-in we were greeted warmly and given quick tour of the city on a map and provided excellent tips for cute streets, local sites, local shops, and restaurants. That made it very easy to explore the city once we settled in. Nurnberg is such a great city for walkers and it is easy to get around. The hotel is just a short walk from museums, historic sites, and shopping. Being close to the train station was also helpful if you wanted to check out sites further out that required a tram or s-bahn. The room was like having a studio apartment with a balcony and a tiny den. It was spacious and clean with all the amenities you'd need. Wifi was good. We had a comfy bed, lots of places to sit, write, or read in the room, there was a tiny room with storage, closet, safe, and a tea kettle. The bathroom was a decent size. Good shower pressure and temperature. Our balcony looked out on the courtyard/parking area for the local fire department. It was not noisy at all. It was a nice spot to drink some tea and read. One night, we saw the firemen play street hockey in the evening, which was a fun surprise. I would definitely stay here again!

United StatesMy parents stayed at Franconia City hotel this April and here is their review: "Our stay at this hotel was simply delightful! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the peaceful atmosphere, spotless cleanliness, and the warm hospitality of the hosts! They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, always ready to offer helpful advice (even with our limited German / English language skills), communication was smooth and pleasant. A special heartfelt thank you for the lovely gift from the owner! It was such a thoughtful and personal touch that made our stay even more unforgettable! Breakfasts were a real treat: a generous and varied buffet with something for everyone, and the staff gladly prepared special dishes upon request. Every morning felt like a little celebration! The location couldn’t be better: right in the heart of the old town, just steps away from all the major sights. Plus, getting to and from the airport was quick and easy, which made everything even more convenient. We truly enjoyed every moment and will wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to all our friends and family. Can’t wait to come back!"

GermanyThe view wasn't spectacular, as the inner yard basically belongs to the firefighters quarters, but I guess it's not a huge disadvantage of you're a fan of those beautiful firefighters' machines:)
One of the best quality-price ratio of the hotels I've ever been to! The room has all the facilities, including some nice touches as a shoe horn (a true rarity in hotels in Europe). The location is perfect for exploring the medieval centre, with a nice old franconiam restaurant just around the corner.

United StatesThe staff go out of their way to help you with your trip - anything from recommendations to placing reservations for you. The breakfast is fresh with nice variety despite the small size of the hotel. The rooms are well appointed with outlets with integrated USB (type A and C), air conditioning (summer only), and an in-room refrigerator. The location is superb - walking distance from the main rail station, 2 minute walk to the metro, and easy access to the downtown shopping and dining.
