Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe internet was slow, especially late at night; it didn't really work at all at night from the master bedroom. So prepare to use the data on your phone.
I am happy I booked this apartment. Trier is a small city and getting around by public transport is easy. I originally booked a hotel in the center and then rebooked, deciding that the center could be busy and noisy. Staying in Tarforst, away from the crowds, was amazing. The neighbourhood is peaceful, safe, comfortable (an excellent shopping center, banks, restaurants are a 5-min. walk), and very pretty. The University of Trier is 5 min. by bus; and the city center and the Central Railway station are only 25-20 min. away by bus and the bus service is very efficient (one bus stop is right in front of the property and 2 more buses stop a short distance away - 4 min. by foot to the bus stop). So after a busy day at work or a busy day sightseeing, it was super nice to come to a beautiful quiet neighbourhood. Another thing I loved is the safety. I had no problem leaving my teenaged child in the apartment while I was at work. The neighbourhood is safe and for me, it was great to know that the owners live in the same house on the first floor and could respond (if needed; we didn't ask for anything) right away. The owners are lovely family people who take pride in taking care of their property. The flower garden in the front was easily the prettiest on the entire street. The apartment is spacious and has everything one may need. The balcony is lovely, there're plenty of windows and so the absence of an air conditioner (air conditioners are rare in Germany) was not really an issue even on hot days. It's also quite impressive that the hosts have a display of many fliers, city maps, information on what to see in Trier, which is valuable for any tourist. I would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomWouldn't change a thing!!
The place is clean and so comfortable, you can feel like it's home. Manni was so helpful, nothing too much trouble. The supermarket and banks are at the bottom of the road. With a bus stop outside and lovely walk into town, the location is excellent. The photos are correct. What you see is what you get! Beautiful accommodation.

PortugalThe Internet was too slow for our needs as my husband was working from home. In the host's defense, we didn't contact him about this so we don't know if we would have got our issue solved had we done so. Otherwise great if you don't need to download big files!
We absolutely loved everything. The host was at the property to hand the keys in, explain some of the property's features, and answer all the questions we had. He was very nice. The location was fantastic as we needed to be near the university campus. We loved the quietness of the neighbourhood and the closeness to nature. There was a shopping parade nearby with everything one needs, supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, and pharmacies. Public transport was available just outside the property and was overall very efficient. The flat was modern, spacious, very well equipped and everything was perfectly functional. The flat was warm and very clean when we got there. The mattresses were comfortable as well as the linen. The bathroom and the WC were warm and spotless. The towels were fluffy, like new. The shower was fantastic, easy to adjust the temperature, and good water pressure. The property had lots of supplies such as hand wash, hand cream, toilet paper, dishwasher detergent, washing-up liquid, coffee, tea, water, sugar, bin liners, kitchen towels, cooking condiments, etc. It was great as we didn't have to rush to the shops to get the basics. The host left a complimentary bottle of wine which was a nice touch. We would stay again!

IrelandA really nice well equipped apartment, bigger than we expected and very comfortable and relaxing. The location is outside Trier in a convenient small community with shops a very short walk away. All positive for us.

Exceptionally clean and comfortable. My son is living at Trier Tarforst-Trier not far from the Fewo, that was also exceptional for us.
